Chapter on the First Obligation of Prayer

باب أول فرض الصلاة

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 1687

Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding Allah's statement, "{Establish prayer at the two ends of the day}," "This refers to the morning and afternoon prayers." And regarding, "{And from the night}," he said, "This refers to the Maghrib and Isha' prayers."

(١٦٨٧) قتادہ (رح) اللہ کے ارشاد { أَقِمِ الصَّلاَۃَ طَرَفَیِ النَّہَارِ } کے متعلق فرماتے ہیں : اس سے مرادصبح اور عصر کی نماز ہے اور { وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّیْلِ } سے مغرب اور عشا کی نماز (مراد ہے) ۔

Qatadah (rah) Allah ke irshad {aqimis-salata tarfayi annahar} ke mutalliq farmate hain: is se murad subah aur asr ki namaz hai aur {wa zulafam minal layl} se maghrib aur isha ki namaz (murad hai).

١٦٨٧ -قَالَ:وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ،قَالَ:وَأنبأ سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى{أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ}[هود: ١١٤]قَالَ:" صَلَاةُ الصُّبْحِ وَصَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ "{وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ}[هود: ١١٤]قَالَ: الْمَغْرِبُ وَالْعِشَاءُ "
