Chapter: What is mentioned about the punishment (Hadd) for non-Muslim subjects (Dhimmis)
باب ما جاء في حد الذميين
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 17114
Ibrahim and Shu`aybi state that when non-Muslims bring a case to Muslim authorities, they can choose to give a verdict or not. If they do choose to give a verdict, they should do so according to the law sent down by Allah.

(١٧١١٤) ابراہیم اور شعبیکہتے ہیں کہ جب غیر مسلم مسلمان حکام کے پاس فیصلہ لائیں تو وہ چاہیں تو کردیں نہ چاہیں تو نہ کریں۔ اگر فیصلہ کریں تو اللہ کے نازل کردہ حکم کے مطابق کریں۔

١٧١١٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نَصْرِ بْنُ قَتَادَةَ، أنبأ أَبُو مَنْصُورٍ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَالشَّعْبِيِّ،قَالَا:" إِذَا ارْتَفَعَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ إِلَى حُكَّامِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِنْ شَاءَ حَكَمَ بَيْنَهُمْ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهُمْ، فَإِنْ حَكَمَ حَكَمَ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ "
