Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 4401
Abdul Wahid bin Ayman narrated: "My father asked Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the two rak'ahs after Asr. She said: 'By the One who has my soul in His hand, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) never missed them until his death. When it became difficult for him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to pray (standing) in his last days, he would pray sitting down.' The narrator said that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to beat people and forbid them from praying these two rak'ahs. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: 'You are right, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not pray them in the mosque so that it would not become obligatory on the Ummah. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) loved to give ease.'"

(٤٤٠١) عبدالواحد بن ایمن فرماتے ہیں : میرے باپ نے حضرت عائشہ (رض) سے عصر کے بعد والی دو رکعتوں کے بارے میں پوچھا تو آپ نے فرمایا : قسم اس ذات کی جو مجھے مارنے والا ہے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے ان کو اپنی وفات تک کبھی نہیں چھوڑا۔ آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر آخری وقت میں نماز پڑھنا مشکل ہوگئی تو آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھ لیا کرتے تھے۔ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت عمر (رض) ان دو رکعت کی وجہ سے پٹائی بھی کردیتے تھے اور منع بھی کرتے۔ حضرت عائشہ (رض) فرماتی ہیں : آپ نے درست کہا، لیکن نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) مسجد میں نہیں پڑھتے تھے تاکہ امت پر بھاری نہ ہوجائے، آپ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تخفیف کو پسند فرماتے تھے۔

٤٤٠١ - أنبأ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَخْتَوَيْهِ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ،ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ أَيْمَنَ قَالَ:حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا يَسْأَلُهَا عَنْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ،فَقَالَتْ:" وَالَّذِي هُوَ ذَهَبَ بِنَفْسِهِ، تَعْنِي رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، مَا تَرَكَهُمَا حَتَّى لَقِيَ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَمَا لَقِيَ اللهَ حَتَّى ثَقُلَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي كَثِيرًا مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ أَوْ جَالِسٌ "فَقَالَ لَهَا: إِنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ كَانَ يَنْهَى عَنْهُمَا، وَيَضْرِبُ عَلَيْهِمَا،فَقَالَتْ:" صَدَقْتَ وَلَكِنْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّيهِمَا، وَلَا يُصَلِّيهِمَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يُثْقِلَ عَلَى أُمَّتِهِ، وَكَانَ يُحِبُّ مَا يُخَفِّفُ عَنْهُمْ "رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ
