Chapter on Dhuhr Prayer Behind One Who Prays Asr
باب الظهر خلف من يصلي العصر
Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 5112
Ibn 'A'idh narrated that a group of three men, who were among the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), came to the mosque while people were praying 'Asr (the afternoon prayer). They had already prayed Dhuhr (the midday prayer). They prayed with the people. When they finished, they said to each other, "What did you do?" One of them said, "I made it Dhuhr and then prayed 'Asr." The second said, "I made it 'Asr and then prayed Dhuhr." The third one said, "I made it Tahiyyat al-Masjid (prayer of greeting the mosque), and then prayed both Dhuhr and 'Asr." And none of them found fault with the other.

(٥١١٢) ابن عائذ فرماتے ہیں کہ تین آدمیوں کی جماعت جو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے صحابہ میں سے تھے مسجد میں آئی اور لوگ عصر کی نماز پڑھ رہے تھے۔ ظہر کی نماز سے فارغ ہوچکے تھے۔ انھوں نے لوگوں کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی۔ جب فارغ ہوئے تو ایک دوسرے سے کہنے لگے : تم نے کیسے کیا ؟ ان میں سے ایک نے کہا : میں نے اس کو ظہر بنادیا۔ پھر میں نے عصر کی نماز پڑھ لی اور دوسرا کہتا ہے : میں نے اس کو عصر بنایا اور اس کے بعد ظہر پڑھ لی، تیسرے نے کہا : میں اس کو تحیۃ المسجد بنادیا، پھر ظہر وعصر کی نماز پڑھ لی تو کسی نے کسی پر کوئی عیب نہیں لگایا۔
(5112) Ibne Aiz farmate hain ke teen aadmiyon ki jamaat jo Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke sahaba mein se the masjid mein aayi aur log Asr ki namaz padh rahe the. Zuhar ki namaz se farigh ho chuke the. Unhon ne logon ke sath namaz padhi. Jab farigh huye to ek dusre se kehne lage: Tum ne kaise kiya? Un mein se ek ne kaha: Main ne is ko Zuhar bana diya. Phir main ne Asr ki namaz padh li aur dusra kehta hai: Main ne is ko Asr banaya aur uske baad Zuhar padh li, teesre ne kaha: Main is ko Tahiyatul Masjid bana diya, phir Zuhar o Asr ki namaz padh li to kisi ne kisi par koi aib nahin lagaya.
٥١١٢ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْعَلَوِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْجَلِيلِ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا أَبُو الْأَزْهَرِ السَّلِيطِيُّ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا الْوَضِينُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ مَحْفُوظِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ،عَنِ ابْنِ عَائِذٍ قَالَ:دَخَلَ ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَالنَّاسُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ قَدْ فَرَغُوا مِنْ صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ فَصَلُّوا مَعَ النَّاسِ،فَلَمَّا فَرَغُوا قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ:كَيْفَ صَنَعْتُمْ؟قَالَ أَحَدُهُمْ:جَعَلْتُهَا الظُّهْرَ ⦗١٢٤⦘ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ الْعَصْرَ،وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ:جَعَلْتُهَا الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ الظُّهْرَ،وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ:جَعَلْتُهَا لِلْمَسْجِدِ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ. فَلَمْ يَعِبْ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ "
