Chapter: The Obligation of the Khutbah, and If He Does Not Deliver It, He Prays Four Units of Dhuhr Because the Explanation of Friday Prayer Is Taken from the Prophet's Practice and He Only Prayed Friday with a Khutbah
باب وجوب الخطبة وأنه إذا لم يخطب صلى ظهرا أربعا، لأن بيان الجمعة أخذ من فعل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ولم يصل الجمعة إلا بالخطبة

Sunan al-Kubra Bayhaqi 5702
Zahri said that we were informed that the first Friday prayer was offered before the arrival of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Medina. Mus'ab bin Umair led the Muslims in Friday prayer. And we were also informed that Friday prayer is only with the sermon. Whoever does not deliver the sermon should pray four rak'ahs.

٥٧٠٢) زہری فرماتے ہیں کہ ہمیں خبر ملی کہ پہلا جمعہ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے مدینہ آنے سے پہلے ادا کیا گیا۔ مسلمانوں کو مصعب بن عمیر نے جمعہ پڑھایا اور ہمیں یہ بھی خبر ملی کہ جمعہ صرف خطبہ کے ساتھ ہوتا ہے۔ جو خطبہ نہیں دیتا، وہ چار رکعات پڑھے۔
5702) Zehri farmate hain ki humain khabar mili ki pehla juma Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke Madina aane se pehle ada kiya gaya. Musalmanon ko Musab bin Umair ne juma parhaaya aur humain ye bhi khabar mili ki juma sirf khutba ke saath hota hai. Jo khutba nahi deta, woh chaar rakaat parhe.
٥٧٠٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ الْحَافِظُ، أنبا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الضَّبِّيُّ، ثنا الْقَاسِمُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ بِمِصْرَ، ثنا عَمِّي يَعْنِي مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْأَيْلِيَّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ يُونُسَ،عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ:" بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا جُمِّعَتِ الْجُمُعَةُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْدُمَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَمَّعَ بِالْمُسْلِمِينَ مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ،قَالَ:وَبَلَغَنَا أَنَّهُ لَا جُمُعَةَ إِلَّا بِخُطْبَةٍ، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَخْطُبْ صَلَّى أَرْبَعًا "
