Ibn Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that when the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) got up at night to offer the Tahajjud prayer, he used to say - ،ُِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدْ ضاللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ قَي ِمُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَاألَر ِلَكَ مُلْكُ السَّمَوَات ُِ ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ الْحَقُّ، وَ وَعْدْ ضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَاألَرْ ضوَاألَر َكَ الْحَقُّ، وَلِقَاؤُكْ لُكَ حَقٌّ، وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ، وَمُحَمَّدٌ صلى هللاحَقٌّ، وَقَو َعليه وسلم حَقٌّ، وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ، اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ، وَ بِك َْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمآمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ، وَ بِكَ خَاصَمْتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ، فَاغْفِر َْ تُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، أَنْتَ رْ تُ، وَمَا أَسْرا أَخَّر ْال َْ الَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكمُقَد ِمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخ ِ رُ، الَ إِلَهَ إِالَّ أَنْتَ ـ أَو [ O Allah! All the praises are for you, You are the Holder of the Heavens and the Earth, And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You have the possession of the Heavens and the Earth And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth And all the praises are for You; You are the King of the Heavens and the Earth; And all the praises are for You; You are the Truth and Your Promise is the truth, And to meet You is true, Your Word is the truth And Paradise is true And Hell is true And all the Prophets are true; And Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) is true, And the Day of Resurrection is true. O Allah, I surrender (my will) to You; I believe in You and depend on You. And repent to You, And with Your help I argue (with my opponents, the non-believers) And I take You as a judge (to judge between us). Please forgive me my previous and future sins; And whatever I concealed or revealed and You are the One who make (some people) forward And (some) backward. There is no God but you. ] Sufyan said that `Abdul Karim Abu Umaiya added to the above - ِ َّْ لَ وَالَ قُوَّ ةَ إِالَّ بِاَّللوَالَ حَو [There is neither might nor power except with Allah].
حضرت ابن عباس ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے فرمایا: نبی ﷺ جب رات کے وقت تہجد پڑھنے کے لیے کھڑے ہوتے تو یہ دعا پڑھتے: ’’اے اللہ! تو ہی تعریف کے لائق ہے۔ تو ہی آسمان و زمین اور جو ان میں ہے انہیں سنبھالنے والا ہے۔ تیرے ہی لیے تعریف ہے۔ تیرے ہی لیے زمین و آسمان اور جو کچھ ان میں ہے ان کی سربراہی ہے۔ تیرے ہی لیے تعریف ہے۔ تو ہی آسمان و زمین کا نور ہے۔ تو ہی ہر طرح کی تعریف کا سزاوار ہے۔ تو ہی آسمان و زمین کا بادشاہ ہے۔ تیرے ہی لیے تعریف لائق ہے، تو خود بھی سچا ہے۔ اور تیرا وعدہ بھی سچا ہے تیری ملاقات یقینی اور تیری بات برحق ہے۔ جنت اور دوزخ برحق، تمام انبیاء برحق اور حضرت محمد ﷺ بھی برحق ہیں، نیز قیامت برحق ہے۔ اے اللہ! میں تیرا فرماں بردار اور تجھ پر ایمان لایا ہوں، تجھ ہی پر بھروسا کرتا اور تیری ہی طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں۔ تیری ہی مدد کے ساتھ مخالفین سے برسرپیکار ہوں اور تجھ ہی سے فیصلہ چاہتا ہوں۔ تو میرے اگلے، پچھلے، پوشیدہ اور ظاہری گناہوں کو معاف کر دے۔ تو ہی پہلے تھا اور تو ہی آخر میں ہو گا۔ تیرے سوا کوئی بھی معبود برحق نہیں ہے۔‘‘ سفیان کہتے ہیں کہ (راوی حدیث) عبدالکریم ابو امیہ نے اس دعا کے آخر میں درج ذیل الفاظ بھی بیان کیے ہیں: ’’اور اللہ کی مدد کے بغیر نیکی کرنے کی طاقت اور برائی سے باز رہنے کی ہمت نہیں۔‘‘ سفیان نے کہا کہ سلیمان بن ابومسلم نے طاؤس سے یہ حدیث سنی تھی، انہوں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس ؓ سے اور انہوں نے نبی اکرم ﷺ سے۔
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne farmaya: Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) jab raat ke waqt tahajjud parhne ke liye khare hote to ye dua parhte: ''Ae Allah! tu hi tareef ke laiq hai. Tu hi aasman-o-zameen aur jo un mein hai unhein sambhalne wala hai. Tere hi liye tareef hai. Tere hi liye zameen-o-aasman aur jo kuch un mein hai un ki sarbarahi hai. Tere hi liye tareef hai. Tu hi aasman-o-zameen ka noor hai. Tu hi har tarah ki tareef ka sazawaar hai. Tu hi aasman-o-zameen ka badshah hai. Tere hi liye tareef laiq hai, tu khud bhi saccha hai. Aur tera wada bhi saccha hai teri mulaqat yaqeeni aur teri baat bar-haq hai. Jannat aur dozakh bar-haq, tamam anbiya bar-haq aur Hazrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) bhi bar-haq hain, neez qiyamat bar-haq hai. Ae Allah! mein tera farman-bardar aur tujh par iman laya hoon, tujh hi par bharosa karta aur teri hi taraf ruju karta hoon. Teri hi madad ke sath mukhalifeen se bar-sar-e-paikar hoon aur tujh hi se faisla chahta hoon. Tu mere agle, pichle, poshida aur zahiri gunahon ko maaf kar de. Tu hi pehle tha aur tu hi aakhir mein ho ga. Tere siwa koi bhi mabood-e-barhaq nahi hai.'' Sufyan kehte hain ke (rawi-e-hadees) Abdul Kareem Abu Umayya ne is dua ke aakhir mein darj-zail alfaz bhi bayan kiye hain: ''Aur Allah ki madad ke bighair naiki karne ki taqat aur burai se baaz rehne ki himmat nahi.'' Sufyan ne kaha ke Sulaiman bin Abu Muslim ne Taoos se ye hadees suni thi, unhon ne Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (Radi Allahu Anhu) se aur unhon ne Nabi-e-Akram (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا , قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَتَهَجَّدُ , قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ قَيِّمُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ لَكَ مُلْكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ الْحَقُّ ، وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ ، وَلِقَاؤُكَ حَقٌّ ، وَقَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ ، وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ ، وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ ، وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ , وَمُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَقٌّ , وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ ، اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ ، أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، أَوْ لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : وَزَادَ عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ أَبُو أُمَيَّةَ ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ , قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
