Ibn Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘the selling of wheat for wheat is Riba (usury) except if it is handed from hand to hand and equal in amount. Similarly, the selling of barley for barley, is Riba except if it is from hand to hand and equal in amount, and dates for dates is usury except if it is from hand to hand and equal in amount.
حضرت عمر ؓ سے روایت ہے وہ نبی کریم ﷺ سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آپ نے فرمایا: ’’گندم کے بدلے گندم فروخت کرنا سود ہے مگر یہ کہ ہاتھوں ہاتھ ہو۔ جو کے عوض جو بیچنا سود ہے مگر یہ کہ ہاتھوں ہاتھ ہو، اور کھجور کے عوض کھجور فروخت کرنا سود ہے مگر یہ کہ ہاتھوں ہاتھ ہو۔‘‘
Hazrat Umar (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai wo Nabi Kareem (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) se bayan karte hain ke Aap ne farmaya: ''Gandum ke badle gandum farokht karna sood hai magar ye ke hathon hath ho. Jau ke iwaz jau bechna sood hai magar ye ke hathon hath ho, aur khajoor ke iwaz khajoor farokht karna sood hai magar ye ke hathon hath ho.''
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، سَمِعَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : الْبُرُّ بِالْبُرِّ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ ، وَالشَّعِيرُ بِالشَّعِيرِ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ ، وَالتَّمْرُ بِالتَّمْرِ رِبًا إِلَّا هَاءَ وَهَاءَ .
