Ummul Momineen Um Salama (رضي الله تعالى عنها) narrated that Allah's Apostle ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) heard some people quarreling at the door of his dwelling. He came out and said, ‘I am only a human being, and opponents come to me (to settle their problems); maybe someone amongst you can present his case more eloquently than the other, whereby I may consider him true and give a verdict in his favor. So, If I give the right of a Muslim to another by mistake, then it is really a portion of Fire, he has the option to take or give up (before the Day of Resurrection).
ام المومنین حضرت ام سلمہ ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے اپنے حجرے کے دروازے پر جھگڑنے کی آواز سنی تو باہر تشریف لائے اور فرمایا: ’’بس میں تو ایک بشر ہی ہوں۔ میرے پاس ایک فریق آتا ہے اور شاید ایک فریق کی بحث دوسرے فریق سے عمدہ ہو جس سے مجھے خیال ہوکہ اس نے سچ کہا ہے، پھر میں اس کے حق میں فیصلہ کردوں، اندریں حالات اگر میں کسی کو دوسرے مسلمان کا حق دلادوں تو یہ آگ کاایک ٹکڑا ہے، چاہے تو اسے قبول کر لے، چاہے اسے چھوڑ دے۔‘‘
Umm-ul-Momonin Hazrat Umm-e-Salama (radiyallahu anhu) se riwayat hai ke Nabi Kareem (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne apne hujre ke darwaze par jhagrne ki awaz suni to bahar tashreef laye aur farmaya: ''Bas main to ek bashar hi hoon. Mere paas ek fareeq aata hai aur shayad ek fareeq ki bahas dusre fareeq se umda ho jis se mujhe khayal ho ke is ne sach kaha hai, phir main is ke haq mein faisla kar doon, andarein halat agar main kisi ko dusre Musalman ka haq dila doon to ye aag ka ek tukra hai, chahe to ise qubool kar le, chahe ise chor de.' '
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ ، أَنَّ أُمَّهَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَتْهَا ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ خُصُومَةً بِبَابِ حُجْرَتِهِ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِمْ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ ، وَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِينِي الْخَصْمُ ، فَلَعَلَّ بَعْضَكُمْ أَنْ يَكُونَ أَبْلَغَ مِنْ بَعْضٍ ، فَأَحْسِبُ أَنَّهُ صَدَقَ ، فَأَقْضِيَ لَهُ بِذَلِكَ ، فَمَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ بِحَقِّ مُسْلِمٍ ، فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ فَلْيَأْخُذْهَا أَوْ فَلْيَتْرُكْهَا .
