ر. Anas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that on the day of the battle of Uhud, the people ran away, leaving the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), but Abu-Talha (رضي الله تعالى عنه) was shielding the Prophet ( صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم) with his shield in front of him. Abu Talha (رضي الله تعالى عنه) was a strong, experienced archer who used to keep his arrow bow strong and well stretched. On that day he broke two or three arrow bows. If any man passed by carrying a quiver full of arrows, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) would say to him, ‘empty it in front of Abu Talha (رضي الله تعالى عنه).’ When the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) stated looking at the enemy by raising his head, Abu Talha (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘O Allah's Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), let my parents be sacrificed for your sake, please don't raise your head, and make it visible, lest an arrow of the enemy should hit you. Let my neck and chest be wounded instead of yours.’ (On that day) I saw Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها), the daughter of Abu Bakr ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) and Um Sulaim (رضي الله تعالى عنها) both lifting their dresses up so that I was able to see the ornaments of their legs, and they were carrying the water skins of their arms to pour the water into the mouths of the thirsty people and then go back and fill them and come to pour the water into the mouths of the people again. (On that day) Abu Talha's (رضي الله تعالى عنه) sword fell from his hand twice or thrice. حضرت انس ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا کہ جب اُحد کی جنگ میں لوگ نبی ﷺ کو چھوڑ کر بھاگ گئے تو حضرت ابوطلحہ ؓ نبی ﷺ کے سامنے ڈھال بنے ہوئے تھے۔ آپ بڑے ماہر تیرانداز اور تجربہ کار کمان کش تھے۔ اس دن ان کے ہاتھوں دو یا تین کمانیں ٹوٹیں۔ جب کوئی تیروں سے بھرا ہوا ترکش لے کر ادھر آ نکلتا تو آپ ﷺ اسے فرماتے: ’’یہ سب تیر طلحہ ؓ کے آگے ڈال دو۔‘‘ ایک بار نبی ﷺ اپنا سر مبارک اٹھا کر کافروں کی طرف دیکھنے لگے تو حضرت ابوطلحہ نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے نبی! میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان ہوں! آپ اپنا سر مبارک اوپر نہ اٹھائیں، مبادا کسی کا تیر آپ کو لگ جائے۔ میرا سینہ آپ کے سینے کے آگے موجود ہے۔ میں نے اس جنگ میں حضرت عائشہ بنت ابوبکر اور حضرت ام سلیم ؓ کو دیکھا کہ یہ دونوں اپنے دامن اٹھائے ہوئے تھیں اور میں ان کے پازیب دیکھ رہا تھا۔ یہ دونوں پانی کی مشکیں بھر کر اپنی پیٹھ پر لاتی تھیں اور لوگوں کے منہ میں ڈال کر پھر لوٹ جاتیں اور انہیں بھر کر پھر لاتی تھیں اور انہیں پیاسوں کے منہ میں ڈال دیتیں۔ اس دن حضرت ابوطلحہ ؓ کے ہاتھ سے دو یا تین مرتبہ تلوار گری تھی۔
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha ke jab Uhud ki jung mein log Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko chor kar bhag gaye to Hazrat Abu Talha (Radi Allahu Anhu) Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke saamne dhaal bane hue thay. Aap bare mahir teer-andaz aur tajrubah-kar kaman-kash thay. Is din un ke hathon do ya teen kamanein tootein. Jab koi teeron se bhara hua tarkash le kar idhar aa nikalta to Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ise farmate: ''Yeh sab teer Talha (Radi Allahu Anhu) ke aage daal do.'' Ek baar Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) apna sar mubarak utha kar kafiron ki taraf dekhne lage to Hazrat Abu Talha ne arz kiya: Allah ke Nabi! Mere maan baap Aap par qurban hon! Aap apna sar mubarak upar na uthaein, mabada kisi ka teer Aap ko lag jaye. Mera seena Aap ke seene ke aage maujood hai. Mein ne is jung mein Hazrat Aisha bint Abu Bakr aur Hazrat Umm-e-Sulaim (Radi Allahu Anha) ko dekha ke yeh donon apne daman uthaye hue thein aur mein in ke pazeeb dekh raha tha. Yeh donon paani ki mashkein bhar kar apni peeth par laati thein aur logon ke munh mein daal kar phir lout jaatein aur unhein bhar kar phir laati thein aur unhein pyason ke munh mein daal ditein. Is din Hazrat Abu Talha (Radi Allahu Anhu) ke hath se do ya teen martaba talwar giri thi.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ انْهَزَمَ النَّاسُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبُو طَلْحَةَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُجَوِّبٌ بِهِ عَلَيْهِ بِحَجَفَةٍ لَهُ , وَكَانَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ رَجُلًا رَامِيًا شَدِيدَ الْقِدِّ يَكْسِرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا , وَكَانَ الرَّجُلُ يَمُرُّ مَعَهُ الْجَعْبَةُ مِنَ النَّبْلِ ، فَيَقُولُ : انْشُرْهَا لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ , فَأَشْرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْقَوْمِ ، فَيَقُولُ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي لَا تُشْرِفْ يُصِيبُكَ سَهْمٌ مِنْ سِهَامِ الْقَوْمِ نَحْرِي دُونَ نَحْرِكَ ، وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ , وَأُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَمُشَمِّرَتَانِ أَرَى خَدَمَ سُوقِهِمَا تُنْقِزَانِ الْقِرَبَ عَلَى مُتُونِهِمَا تُفْرِغَانِهِ فِي أَفْوَاهِ الْقَوْمِ ، ثُمَّ تَرْجِعَانِ فَتَمْلَآَنِهَا , ثُمَّ تَجِيئَانِ فَتُفْرِغَانِهِ فِي أَفْوَاهِ الْقَوْمِ , وَلَقَدْ وَقَعَ السَّيْفُ مِنْ يَدَيْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ , إِمَّا مَرَّتَيْنِ , وَإِمَّا ثَلَاثًا .
