Narrated Ubaidullah bin `Abdullah bin `Utba: We were informed that Musailima Al-Kadhdhab had arrived in Medina and stayed in the house of the daughter of Al-Harith. The daughter of Al-Harith bin Kuraiz was his wife and she was the mother of `Abdullah bin 'Amir. There came to him Allah's Apostle accompanied by Thabit bin Qais bin Shammas who was called the orator of Allah's Apostle. Allah's Apostle had a stick in his hand then. The Prophet stopped before Musailima and spoke to him. Musailima said to him, If you wish, we would not interfere between you and the rule, on condition that the rule will be ours after you... The Prophet said, If you asked me for this stick, I would not give it to you. I think you are the same person who was shown to me in a dream. And this is Thabit bin Al-Qais who will answer you on my behalf.
حضرت عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ بن عتبہ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا: ہمیں یہ بات پہنچی کہ مسیلمہ کذاب مدینہ طیبہ میں آیا ہے اور اس نے بنت حارث کی حویلی میں پڑاؤ کیا ہے۔ اس کے نکاح میں حارث بن کریز کی بیٹی تھی اور وہ (عبداللہ بن) عبداللہ بن عمر کی ماں تھی۔ رسول اللہ ﷺ اس کے پاس تشریف لے گئے اور آپ کے ساتھ ثابت بن قیس بن شماس بھی تھے۔ یہ وہی ہیں جنہیں رسول اللہ ﷺ کا خطیب کہا جاتا ہے۔ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے ہاتھ مبارک میں کھجور کی چھڑی تھی۔ آپ ﷺ اس کے پاس آ کر ٹھہرے اور اس سے گفتگو کی تو مسیلمہ کذاب نے کہا: اگر آپ چاہیں تو اپنے بعد حکومت اور خلافت ہمارے حوالے کر دیں۔ آپ کی زندگی میں حکومت آپ کے پاس رہے گی۔ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’اگر تو مجھ سے یہ چھڑی مانگے تو میں تجھے یہ بھی نہیں دوں گا اور میں سمجھتا ہوں کہ تو وہی ہے جو مجھے خواب میں دکھایا گیا ہے۔ یہ ثابت بن قیس ہیں میری طرف سے تیری باتوں کا یہی جواب دیں گے۔‘‘ اس کے بعد نبی ﷺ وہاں سے تشریف لے آئے۔
Hazrat Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utba se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha: Humein yeh baat pahunchi ke Musailama Kazzab Madina Tayyaba mein aaya hai aur us ne Bint-e-Haris ki haveli mein parrao kiya hai. Is ke nikah mein Haris bin Kuraiz ki beti thi aur wo (Abdullah bin) Abdullah bin Umar ki maan thi. Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is ke paas tashreef le gaye aur aap ke saath Sabit bin Qais bin Shamas bhi thay. Yeh wahi hain jinhein Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ka khateeb kaha jata hai. Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke haath mubarak mein khajoor ki chhari thi. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is ke paas aa kar thehre aur us se guftagu ki to Musailama Kazzab ne kaha: Agar aap chahein to apne baad hukoomat aur khilafat hamare hawale kar dein. Aap ki zindagi mein hukoomat aap ke paas rahegi. Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Agar tu mujh se yeh chhari maange to main tujhe yeh bhi nahi dunga aur main samajhta hon ke tu wahi hai jo mujhe khawab mein dikhaya gaya hai. Yeh Sabit bin Qais hain meri taraf se teri baaton ka yahi jawab dein ge." Is ke baad Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) wahan se tashreef le aaye.
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ نَشِيطٍ وَكَانَ فِي مَوْضِعٍ آخَرَ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، قَالَ : بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ مُسَيْلِمَةَ الْكَذَّابَ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَنَزَلَ فِي دَارِ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ ، وَكَانَ تَحْتَهُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ كُرَيْزٍ وَهِيَ أُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، فَأَتَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُقَالُ لَهُ : خَطِيبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَفِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضِيبٌ ، فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَكَلَّمَهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ مُسَيْلِمَةُ : إِنْ شِئْتَ خَلَّيْتَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الْأَمْرِ ثُمَّ جَعَلْتَهُ لَنَا بَعْدَكَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَوْ سَأَلْتَنِي هَذَا الْقَضِيبَ مَا أَعْطَيْتُكَهُ ، وَإِنِّي لَأَرَاكَ الَّذِي أُرِيتُ فِيهِ مَا أُرِيتُ ، وَهَذَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ وَسَيُجِيبُكَ عَنِّي ، فَانْصَرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
