Adi bin Hatim (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘if you let loose your hound after a game and mention Allah's Name on sending it, and the hound catches the game and kills it, then you can eat of it. But if the hound eats of it, then you should not eat thereof, for the hound has caught it for itself. And if along with your hound, joined other hounds, and Allah's Name was not mentioned at the time of their sending, and they catch an animal and kill it, you should not eat of it, for you will not know which of them has killed it. And if you have thrown an arrow at the game and then find it (dead) two or three days later and, it bears no mark other than the wound inflicted by your arrow, then you can eat of it. But if the game is found (dead) in water, then do not eat of it.’
سیدنا عدی بن حاتم ؓ سے روایت ہے وہ نبی ﷺ سے بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آپ نے فرمایا: ”جب تم نے اپنا کتا چھوڑا اور اس پر بسم اللہ بھی پڑھی، پھر کتے نے شکار پکڑا اور اسے مار ڈالا تو اسے کھاؤ۔ اور اگر اس نے خود بھی کھا لیا ہو تو تم نہ کھاؤ کیونکہ اس نے یہ شکار اپنے لیے پکڑا ہے۔ اگر شکاری کتا دوسرے کتوں سے مل گیا جن پر اللہ کا نام نہیں لیا گیا تھا اور وہ شکار پکڑ کر مار ڈالیں تو ایسا شکار نہ کھاؤ کیونکہ تمہیں یہ معلوم نہیں کہ شکار کس کتے نے مارا ہے۔ اگر تم نے شکار کو تیر مارا، پھر دو یا تین دن بعد تمہیں ملا اور اس پر تمہارے تیر کے نشان کے علاوہ دوسرا نشان نہیں تھا تو ایسا شکار بھی کھاؤ لیکن اگر وہ پانی میں گر گیا ہو تو نہ کھاؤ۔“
Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (radiyallahu anhu) se riwayat hai wo Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se bayan karte hain ke Aap ne farmaya: ‘Jab tum ne apna kutta chhora aur is par Bismillah bhi parhi, phir kutte ne shikar pakra aur ise maar dala to ise khao. Aur agar is ne khud bhi kha liya ho to tum na khao kyunke is ne yeh shikar apne liye pakra hai. Agar shikari kutta doosre kutton se mil gaya jin par Allah ka naam nahi liya gaya tha aur wo shikar pakar kar maar dalein to aisa shikar na khao kyunke tumhein yeh maloom nahi ke shikar kis kutte ne mara hai. Agar tum ne shikar ko teer mara, phir do ya teen din baad tumhein mila aur is par tumhare teer ke nishan ke alawa doosra nishan nahi tha to aisa shikar bhi khao lekin agar wo pani mein gir gaya ho to na khao.’
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : إِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ كَلْبَكَ وَسَمَّيْتَ فَأَمْسَكَ وَقَتَلَ فَكُلْ ، وَإِنْ أَكَلَ فَلَا تَأْكُلْ فَإِنَّمَا أَمْسَكَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ ، وَإِذَا خَالَطَ كِلَابًا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا فَأَمْسَكْنَ وَقَتَلْنَ ، فَلَا تَأْكُلْ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي أَيُّهَا قَتَلَ ، وَإِنْ رَمَيْتَ الصَّيْدَ فَوَجَدْتَهُ بَعْدَ يَوْمٍ أَوْ يَوْمَيْنِ لَيْسَ بِهِ إِلَّا أَثَرُ سَهْمِكَ فَكُلْ ، وَإِنْ وَقَعَ فِي الْمَاءِ فَلَا تَأْكُلْ .
