Chapter: If the hunter hits a game but does not catch it till two or three days

باب الصَّيْدِ إِذَا غَابَ عَنْهُ يَوْمَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثَةً

And it has also been narrated by Adi bin Hatim (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that he asked the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), ‘if a hunter throws an arrow at the game and after tracing it for two or three days he finds it dead but still bearing his arrow, (can he eat of it)?’ The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) replied, ‘he can eat if he wishes.’
سیدنا عدی بن حاتم ؓ ہی سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے نبی ﷺ سے عرض کی کہ وہ شکار کو تیر مارتے ہیں، پھر دو یا تین دن اس کو تلاش کرتے ہیں تو اسے مرا ہوا پاتے ہیں اور اس میں ان کا تیر گھسا ہوتا ہے۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اگر چاہے تو کھالے۔“
Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (radiyallahu anhu) hi se riwayat hai, unhon ne Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) se arz ki ke wo shikar ko teer marte hain, phir do ya teen din is ko talash karte hain to ise mara hua pate hain aur is mein un ka teer ghusa hota hai. Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ne farmaya: ‘Agar chahe to khale.’
وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى : عَنْ دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ عَدِيٍّ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : يَرْمِي الصَّيْدَ فَيَقْتَفِرُ أَثَرَهُ الْيَوْمَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ ثُمَّ يَجِدُهُ مَيِّتًا وَفِيهِ سَهْمُهُ ، قَالَ : يَأْكُلُ إِنْ شَاءَ .
