Al-Bara' bin `Azib (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that he saw the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) on the Day of (the battle of) Al-Khandaq, carrying earth with us and saying, ‘by Allah, without Allah we would not have been guided, neither would we have fasted, nor would we have prayed. O Allah send down Sakina (calmness) upon us and make our feet firm when we meet (the enemy). The pagans have rebelled against us, but if they want to put us in affliction (fight us) we refuse (to flee).’
حضرت براء بن عازب رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا: میں نے غزوہ خندق کے دن نبی ﷺ کو دیکھا، آپ ہمارے ساتھ مٹی اٹھا رہے تھے اور فرما رہے تھے: اللہ کی قسم! اگر اللہ نہ ہوتا تو ہم ہدایت نہ پا سکتے نہ روزہ رکھ سکتے اور نہ نماز پڑھ سکتے اے اللہ! ہم پر سکینت نازل فرما اگر ہم دشمن سے لڑیں تو ہمیں ثابت قدم رکھ مشرکین نے ہم پر زیادتی کی ہے جس وقت انہوں نے فتنے کا ارادہ کیا تو ہم نے انکار کر دیا۔
Hazrat Bara bin Azib (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai unhon ne kaha: Main ne Ghazwa-e-Khandaq ke din Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ko dekha, Aap hamare saath mitti utha rahe the aur farma rahe the: Allah ki qasam! agar Allah na hota toh hum hidayat na pa sakte, na roza rakh sakte aur na namaz padh sakte, Ae Allah! hum par sakeenat nazil farma, agar hum dushman se ladein toh humein sabit-qadam rakh, mushrikeen ne hum par zyada-ti ki hai jis waqt unhon ne fitne ka irada kiya toh hum ne inkar kar diya.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَريِرٌ هُوَ ابْنُ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ الْبَرَاء بْنِ عَازِب ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ يَنْقُلُ مَعَنَا التُّرَابَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا اللَّهُ مَا اهْتَدَيْنَا ، وَلَا صُمْنَا وَلَا صَلَّيْنَا ، فَأَنْزِلَنْ سَكِينَةً عَلَيْنَا ، وَثَبِّتِ الْأَقْدَامَ إِنْ لَاقَيْنَا ، وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ قَدْ بَغَوْا عَلَيْنَا ، إِذَا أَرَادُوا فِتْنَةً أَبَيْنَا .
