Ummul Momineen Um Salama (رضي الله تعالى عنها) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) heard the voices of some people quarreling near his door, so he went to them and said, ‘I am only a human being and litigants with cases of disputes come to me, and maybe one of them presents his case eloquently in a more convincing and impressive way than the other, and I give my verdict in his favor thinking he is truthful. So, if I give a Muslim's right to another (by mistake), then that (property) is a piece of Fire, which is up to him to take it or leave it.’
سیدہ ام سلمہ ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے بتایا کہ نبی ﷺ نے اپنے دروازے پر جھگڑا کرنے والوں کی آواز سنی تو ان کی طرف تشریف لے گئے،پھر آپ نے ان سے فرمایا: ”میں تمہارے جیسا ایک انسان ہی ہوں۔ میرے پاس لوگ مقدمات لے کر آتے ہیں ، ممکن ہے کہ ایک فریق دوسرے کے مقابلے میں عمدہ بات کرنے کا ماہر ہو اور میں اس کی بات سن کر اس کے حق فیصلہ کردیتا ہوں اور میں سمجھتا ہوں کہ وہ بات کرنے میں سچا ہے تو ایسے حالات میں اگر میں کسی دوسرے کے حق کا فیصلہ کردوں تو بلاشبہ وہ آگ کا ایک ٹکڑا ہے وہ اسے لے لے یا چھوڑدے۔“ ۔
Sayyidah Umm-e-Salama (Radi Allahu Anha) se riwayat hai, unhon ne bataya ke Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne apne darwaze par jhagra karne walon ki awaz suni to in ki taraf tashreef le gaye, phir aap ne in se farmaya: "Main tumhare jaisa aik insan hi hoon. Mere paas log muqaddamat le kar aate hain, mumkin hai ke aik fareeq doosre ke muqable mein umdah baat karne ka mahir ho aur main is ki baat sun kar is ke haqq faisla kardieta hoon aur main samajhta hoon ke woh baat karne mein sacha hai to aise halat mein agar main kisi doosre ke haqq ka faisla kardon to bilashuba woh aag ka aik tukra hai woh usay le le ya chordey."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ ، عَنْ أُمِّهَا أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ : سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَلَبَةَ خِصَامٍ عِنْدَ بَابِهِ ، فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ وَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِينِي الْخَصْمُ ، فَلَعَلَّ بَعْضًا أَنْ يَكُونَ أَبْلَغَ مِنْ بَعْضٍ أَقْضِي لَهُ بِذَلِكَ وَأَحْسِبُ أَنَّهُ صَادِقٌ ، فَمَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ بِحَقِّ مُسْلِمٍ فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ فَلْيَأْخُذْهَا ، أَوْ لِيَدَعْهَا .
