Sahih al-Bukhari 2898
Sahl bin Sa’d As-Sa’idi (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that Allah’s Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and the pagans faced each other and started fighting. When Allah’s Apostle ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) returned to his camp and when the pagans returned to their camp, somebody talked about a man amongst the companions of Allah’s Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) who would follow and kill with his sword any pagan going alone. He said, ‘nobody did his job (fighting) so properly today as that man.’ Allah’s Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘Indeed, he is amongst the people of the (Hell) Fire.’ A man amongst the people said, ‘I shall accompany him (to watch what he does)’. Thus he accompanied him, and wherever he stood, he would stand with him, and wherever he ran, he would run with him. Then the (brave) man got wounded seriously and he decided to bring about his death quickly. He planted the blade of the sword in the ground directing its sharp end towards his chest between his two breasts. Then he leaned on the sword and killed himself. The other man came to Allah’s Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and said, ‘I testify that you are Allah’s Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).’ The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) asked, ‘what has happened?’ He replied, ‘(It is about) the man whom you had described as one of the people of the (Hell) Fire. The people were greatly surprised at what you said, and I thought that I will find out his reality for you. So, I came out seeking him. He got severely wounded and hastened to die by slanting the blade of his sword in the ground directing its sharp end towards his chest between his two breasts. Then he eased on his sword and killed himself.’ When Allah’s Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘A man may seem to the people as if he were practicing the deeds of the people of Paradise while in fact he is from the people of the (Hell) Fire, another may seem to the people as if he were practicing the deeds of the people of Hell (Fire), while in fact he is from the people of Paradise.’
حضرت سہل بن سعد ساعدی ؓسے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کی مشرکین سے مڈ بھیڑ ہوگئی اور جنگ چھڑ گئی۔ پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ جب اپنے پڑاؤ کی طرف واپس ہوئے اور مشرکین اپنے پڑاؤ کی طرف روانہ ہوئے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ کے اصحاب کے ساتھ ایک شخص تھا جو مشرکین میں سے الگ ہونے والے یا اکیلے شخص کو نہیں چھوڑتا تھا۔ وہ اس (الگ ہونے والے) کا پیچھا کرتا اور اپنی تلوار سے وار کرکے اس کا کام تمام کردیتا۔ حضرت سہل ؓنے اس کے متعلق کہا: آج جس قدر بے جگری سے فلاں شخص لڑا ہے ہم میں سے کوئی بھی اس طرح نہیں لڑسکا۔ لیکن رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اس کے متعلق فرمایا: ’’وہ تو اہل جہنم سے ہے۔‘‘ مسلمانوں میں سے ایک شخص نے کہا: میں اس کا پیچھا کروں گا۔ یہ شخص بھی اس کے ساتھ نکلا، جہاں وہ رک جاتا یہ بھی اسکے ہمراہ ٹھہر جاتا اور جب وہ جلدی چلتا تو یہ بھی اسکے ہمراہ جلدی چلتا۔ راوی بیان کرتے ہیں کہ آخر وہ شخص شدید زخمی ہوگیا اور زخموں سے تنگ آکر اس نے جلد ہی موت کو دعوت دی کہ تلوار کا پھل تو اس نے زمین پر رکھ دیا اور اس کی دھار کو اپنے سینے کے مقابلے میں کرلیا، پھر اپنی تلوار پر جھک کر اپنے آپ کو قتل کرلیا۔ اب وہ (پیچھا کرنے والے) صحابی رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور کہنے لگے: میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ آپ اللہ کے سچے رسول ہیں۔ آپ نے پوچھا: ’’ کیا بات ہے؟‘‘ اس نے کہا: وہ شخص جس کے متعلق آپ نے فرمایا تھا کہ وہ جہنمی ہے اور لوگوں پر آپ کا یہ فرمان بہت گراں گزرا تھا، میں نے ان سے کہا کہ میں تم سب لوگوں کی طرف سے اس کے متعلق تحقیق کرتا ہوں، چنانچہ میں اس کے پیچھے ہولیا۔ اس کے بعد وہ شخص شدید زخمی ہوا اور جلد ہی موت کو دعوت دی کہ اس نے اپنی تلوار کا پھل زمین پر رکھ کر اس کی دھار کو اپنے سینے کے مقابل کرلیا، پھر اس پر خود کو گرا کر اپنے آپ کو قتل کرلیا۔ تب رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرماا: ’’ایک شخص زندگی بھر اہل جنت کے سے کام کرتا ہے، حالانکہ وہ جہنمی ہوتا ہے اور ایک آدمی بظاہر دوزخ کے سے کام کرتا ہے، حالانکہ وہ اہل جنت سے ہوتا ہے۔‘‘
Hazrat Sahl bin Saad Sa'idi (Radi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki mushrikeen se mud-bher hogayi aur jung chirr gayi. Phir Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) jab apne parao ki taraf wapas hue aur mushrikeen apne parao ki taraf rawana hue to Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke as-haab ke sath ek shakhs tha jo mushrikeen mein se alag hone wale ya akayle shakhs ko nahi chorta tha. Wo is (alag hone wale) ka peecha karta aur apni talwar se waar karke us ka kaam tamam kardeta. Hazrat Sahl (Radi Allahu Anhu) ne is ke mutalliq kaha: Aaj jis qadar be-jigri se falan shakhs lara hai hum mein se koi bhi is tarah nahi larr-saka. Lekin Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne is ke mutalliq farmaya: "Wo to ahl-e-jahannum se hai." Musalmanon mein se ek shakhs ne kaha: Mein is ka peecha karoon ga. Yeh shakhs bhi is ke sath nikla, jahan wo ruk jata yeh bhi uske humrah thehar jata aur jab wo jaldi chalta to yeh bhi uske humrah jaldi chalta. Rawi bayan karte hain ke aakhir wo shakhs shadeed zakhmi hogaya aur zakhmon se tang aakar us ne jald hi maut ko dawat di ke talwar ka phal to us ne zameen par rakh diya aur is ki dhaar ko apne seene ke muqable mein karliya, phir apni talwar par jhuk kar apne aap ko qatl karliya. Ab wo (peecha karne wale) sahabi Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hue aur kehne lage: Mein gawahi deta hoon ke Aap Allah ke sache Rasul hain. Aap ne pucha: "Kya baat hai?" Us ne kaha: Wo shakhs jis ke mutalliq Aap ne farmaya tha ke wo jahannami hai aur logon par Aap ka yeh farman bahut garaan guzra tha, mein ne in se kaha ke mein tum sab logon ki taraf se is ke mutalliq tehqeeq karta hoon, chunanche mein is ke peeche ho-liya. Is ke baad wo shakhs shadeed zakhmi hua aur jald hi maut ko dawat di ke us ne apni talwar ka phal zameen par rakh kar is ki dhaar ko apne seene ke muqabil karliya, phir is par khud ko gira kar apne aap ko qatl karliya. Tab Rasul Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: "Ek shakhs zindagi bhar ahl-e-jannat ke se kaam karta hai, halanke wo jahannami hota hai aur ek aadmi bazahir dozakh ke se kaam karta hai, halanke wo ahl-e-jannat se hota."
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْتَقَى هُوَ وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ فَاقْتَتَلُوا فَلَمَّا مَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى عَسْكَرِهِ وَمَالَ الْآخَرُونَ إِلَى عَسْكَرِهِمْ وَفِي أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ لَا يَدَعُ لَهُمْ شَاذَّةً ، وَلَا فَاذَّةً إِلَّا اتَّبَعَهَا يَضْرِبُهَا بِسَيْفِهِ ، فَقَالَ : مَا أَجْزَأَ مِنَّا الْيَوْمَ أَحَدٌ كَمَا أَجْزَأَ فُلَانٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَمَا إِنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : مِنَ الْقَوْمِ أَنَا صَاحِبُهُ ، قَالَ : فَخَرَجَ مَعَهُ كُلَّمَا وَقَفَ وَقَفَ مَعَهُ ، وَإِذَا أَسْرَعَ أَسْرَعَ مَعَهُ ، قَالَ : فَجُرِحَ الرَّجُلُ جُرْحًا شَدِيدًا فَاسْتَعْجَلَ الْمَوْتَ ، فَوَضَعَ نَصْلَ سَيْفِهِ بِالْأَرْضِ وَذُبَابَهُ بَيْنَ ثَدْيَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ تَحَامَلَ عَلَى سَيْفِهِ فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ ، فَخَرَجَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَمَا ذَاكَ ، قَالَ الرَّجُلُ : الَّذِي ذَكَرْتَ آنِفًا أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، فَأَعْظَمَ النَّاسُ ذَلِكَ ، فَقُلْتُ : أَنَا لَكُمْ بِهِ فَخَرَجْتُ فِي طَلَبِهِ ، ثُمَّ جُرِحَ جُرْحًا شَدِيدًا فَاسْتَعْجَلَ الْمَوْتَ ، فَوَضَعَ نَصْلَ سَيْفِهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَذُبَابَهُ بَيْنَ ثَدْيَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ تَحَامَلَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ ، فَقَالَ : رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ عَمَلَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فِيمَا يَبْدُو لِلنَّاسِ وَهُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ عَمَلَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فِيمَا يَبْدُو لِلنَّاسِ وَهُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ .
