The Statement of Allah the Exalted: "...O you who believe! Enter not the Prophet's houses, except when leave is given to you for a meal... (up to) ... Verily! With Allah that shall be an enormity." (V.33:53)

باب قَوْلِهِ {لاَ تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتَ النَّبِيِّ إِلاَّ أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نَاظِرِينَ إِنَاهُ وَلَكِنْ إِذَا دُعِيتُمْ فَادْخُلُوا فَإِذَا طَعِمْتُمْ فَانْتَشِرُوا وَلاَ مُسْتَأْنِسِينَ لِحَدِيثٍ إِنَّ ذَلِكُمْ كَانَ يُؤْذِي النَّب

Sahih al-Bukhari 4790
Umar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that I said, ‘O Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), good and bad persons come to you, so I suggest that you order the mothers of the Believers (your wives) to observe veils.’ Then Allah revealed the verses of Al- Hijab.
حضرت انس ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا کہ سیدنا عمر ؓ نے فرمایا: میں نے عرض کی: اللہ کے رسول! آپ کے ہاں اچھے اور برے ہر طرح کے لوگ آتے رہتے ہیں (کیا اچھا ہو) اگر آپ امہات المومنین کو پردے کا حکم دیں، تب اللہ تعالٰی نے آیت حجاب نازل فرمائی۔
Hazrat Anas (Radiyallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha ke Sayyiduna Umar (Radiyallahu Anhu) ne farmaya: Main ne arz ki: Allah ke Rasool! Aap ke haan achay aur buray har tarah ke log aate rehte hain (kya achha ho) agar aap Ummahat-ul-Momineen ko parde ka hukum den, tab Allah Ta'ala ne aayat-e-hijab nazil farmai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكَ الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ فَلَوْ أَمَرْتَ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِالْحِجَابِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ آيَةَ الْحِجَابِ .
