Sahih al-Bukhari 4836
Al-Mughira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) used to offer night prayers till his feet became swollen. Somebody said, to him, ‘Allah has forgiven you, your faults of the past and those to follow.’ On that, he said, ‘should not I be a thankful servant of Allah?
حضرت مغیرہ بن شعبہ ؓ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا کہ نبی ﷺ نماز میں رات بھر کھڑے رہے یہاں تک کہ آپ کے دونوں پاؤں سوج گئے۔ آپ سے عرض کی گئی: اللہ تعالٰی نے آپ کی اگلی پچھلی تمام خطائیں معاف کر دی ہیں (تو پھر اس قدر مشقت کیوں؟) رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ’’کیا میں شکرگزار بندہ نہ بنوں؟‘‘
Hazrat Mugheerah bin Shu'bah (Radiyallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai, unhon ne kaha ke Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) namaz mein raat bhar khaday rahe yahan tak ke aap ke dono paaon sooj gaye. Aap se arz ki gayi: Allah Ta'ala ne aap ki agli pichhli tamam khatayen maaf kar di hain (to phir is qadar mashaqqat kyun?) Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: ''Kya main shukr-guzar banda na banoon?''
حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادٌ هُوَ ابْنُ عِلَاقَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْمُغِيرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى تَوَرَّمَتْ قَدَمَاهُ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ ، قَالَ : أَفَلَا أَكُونُ عَبْدًا شَكُورًا .
