Chapter: The superiority of Qul-Huwa Allahu Ahad (Surat Al-Ikhlas) (No.112)

باب فَضْلِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
Sahih al-Bukhari 5014
Abu Said Al-Khudri (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that his brother Qatada bin An-Nau'man ( رضي الله تعالى عنه) said, ‘a man performed the night prayer late at night in the lifetime of the Prophet ( صلىہللا عليه و آله وسلم) and he read - ٌَّ ُ أَحَدقُلْ هُوَ َّللا [Say, He is Allah, (the) One] (Al-Ikhlas – 1) and read nothing besides that. The next morning a man went to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and told him about that. (The Prophet ﷺ) replied the same as (in Hadith # 35) above.
سیدنا ابو سعید خدری ؓ ہی سے روایت ہے کہ مجھے میرے بھائی قتادۃ بن نعمان ؓ نے بتایا کہ نبی ﷺ کے زمانہ مبارک میں ایک شخص نے سحری کے وقت کھڑے ہو کر ﴿ قُل ھُوَ اللہُ أَحَد﴾ کو پڑھا۔ وہ اس پر کسی دوسری سورت کا اضافہ نہیں کر رہا تھا جب ہم نے صبح کی تو ایک صحابی نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے پھر پہلی حدیث کے مطابق واقعہ بیان کیا۔
Sayyiduna Abu Saeed Khudri (Radiyallahu Anhu) hi se riwayat hai ke mujhe mere bhai Qatadah bin Nu'man (Radiyallahu Anhu) ne bataya ke Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke zamana-e-mubarak mein ek shakhs ne sahri ke waqt khaday ho kar (Qul Huwallahu Ahad) ko padha. Woh is par kisi doosri surat ka izafa nahi kar raha tha jab hum ne subah ki to ek sahabi Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein hazir hue phir pehli hadees ke mutabiq waqiya bayan kiya.
وَزَادَ أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَخِي قَتَادَةُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَامَ فِي زَمَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ مِنَ السَّحَرِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ لَا يَزِيدُ عَلَيْهَا ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا أَتَى الرَّجُلُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ .
