Sahih al-Bukhari 5466
Anas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated, ‘I know (about) the Hijab (the order of veiling of women) more than anybody else. Ubai bin Ka’b (رضي الله تعالى عنه) used to ask me about it. Allah’s Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) became the bridegroom of Ummul Momineen Zainab bint Jahsh (رضي الله تعالى عنها) whom he married at Al-Madina. After the sun had risen high in the sky, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) invited the people to a meal. Allah's Apostle ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) remained sitting and some people remained sitting with him after the other guests had left. Then Allah’s Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) got up and went away, and I too, followed him till he reached the door of Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها)'s room. Then he thought that the people must have left the place by then, so he returned and I also returned with him. Behold, the people were still sitting at their places. So he went back again for the second time, and I went along with him too. When we reached the door of Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها)'s room, he returned and I also returned with him to see that the people had left. Thereupon the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hung a curtain between me and him and the Verse regarding the order for (veiling of women) Hijab was revealed.
سیدنا انس ؓ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نزول حجاب کے متعلق لوگوں سے زیادہ معلومات رکھتا ہوں۔ سیدنا ابی بن لعب ؓ بھی مجھ سے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا کرتے تھے ہوا یوں کہ سیدنا زینب بنت حجش ؓ سے رسول اللہ ﷺ کی شادی کا موقع تھا آپ نے ان سے مدینہ طیبہ میں نکاح کیا تھا۔ دن چڑھنے کے بعد آپ ﷺ نے لوگوں کو کھانے کی دعوت دی۔ رسول اللہ ﷺ وہیں تشریف فرما تھے اور آپ کے ساتھ دیگر صحابہ بھی بیٹھے تھے اس وقت دوسرے لوگ کھانے سے فارغ ہو کر جا چکے تھے حتیٰ کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ اٹھنے اور چلنے لگے تو میں بھی آپ کے ساتھ چل رہا تھا۔ جب آپ سیدہ عائشہ ؓ کے حجرے پر پہنچے تو خیال آیا کہ شاید لوگ چلے گئے ہوں گے آپ وہیں سے واپس آئے۔ میں بھی آپ کے ساتھ واپس آیا تو دیکھا کہ لوگ اب بھی وہاں بیٹھے ہوئے ہیں، چنانچہ آپ پھر واپس ہوئے اور میں بھی آپ کے ہمراہ دوبارہ واپس آ گیا۔ جب دوسری مرتبہ سیدہ عائشہ ؓ کے حجرے تک پہنچے تو واپس آ گئے اور میں آپ کے ساتھ لوٹ آیا۔ اب وہ لوگ جا چکے تھے اس کے بعد آپ ﷺ نے میرے اور اپنے درمیان پردہ لٹکایا اور آیت حجاب نازل ہوئی۔
Sayyidna Anas (radi Allahu anhu) se riwayat hai unhon ne kaha ke mein nazool-e-hijab ke mutalliq logon se zyada maloomat rakhta hoon. Sayyidna Ubayy bin Ka'b (radi Allahu anhu) bhi mujh se is ke baare mein poocha karte thay hua yun ke Sayyida Zainab bint Jahsh (radi Allahu anha) se Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ki shadi ka mauqa tha Aap ne in se Madina Tayyiba mein nikah kiya tha. Din charhne ke baad Aap (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne logon ko khane ki dawat di. Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) waheen tashreef farma thay aur Aap ke sath digar sahaba bhi baithe thay is waqt doosre log khane se farigh ho kar ja chuke thay hatta ke Rasool Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) uthne aur chalne lage to mein bhi Aap ke sath chal raha tha. Jab Aap Sayyida Aisha (radi Allahu anha) ke hujre par pahunche to khayal aaya ke shayad log chale gaye hon ge Aap waheen se wapas aaye. Mein bhi Aap ke sath wapas aaya to dekha ke log ab bhi wahan baithe huay hain, chunancha Aap phir wapas huay aur mein bhi Aap ke hamrah dobara wapas aa gaya. Jab doosri martaba Sayyida Aisha (radi Allahu anha) ke hujre tak pahunche to wapas aa gaye aur mein Aap ke sath laut aaya. Ab woh log ja chuke thay is ke baad Aap (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) ne mere aur apne darmiyan parda latkaya aur ayat-e-hijab nazil hui.
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّ أَنَسًا ، قَالَ : أَنَا أَعْلَمُ النَّاسِ بِالْحِجَابِ كَانَ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ يَسْأَلُنِي عَنْهُ ، أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَرُوسًا بِزَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ وَكَانَ تَزَوَّجَهَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، فَدَعَا النَّاسَ لِلطَّعَامِ بَعْدَ ارْتِفَاعِ النَّهَارِ ، فَجَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَلَسَ مَعَهُ رِجَالٌ بَعْدَ مَا قَامَ الْقَوْمُ حَتَّى قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَشَى وَمَشَيْتُ مَعَهُ حَتَّى بَلَغَ بَابَ حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ ثُمَّ ظَنَّ أَنَّهُمْ خَرَجُوا ، فَرَجَعْتُ مَعَهُ فَإِذَا هُمْ جُلُوسٌ مَكَانَهُمْ ، فَرَجَعَ وَرَجَعْتُ مَعَهُ الثَّانِيَةَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ بَابَ حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ فَرَجَعَ وَرَجَعْتُ مَعَهُ فَإِذَا هُمْ قَدْ قَامُوا ، فَضَرَبَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ سِتْرًا وَأُنْزِلَ الْحِجَابُ .
