Sahih al-Bukhari 6607
Sahl bin Sa`d (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that there was a man who fought most bravely of all the Muslims on behalf of the Muslims in a battle in the company of the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) looked at him and said, ‘if anyone would like to see a man from the people of the Fire, let him look at this (brave man).’ On that, a man from the People (Muslims) followed him, and he was in that state fighting fiercely against the pagans till he was wounded, and then he hastened to end his life by placing his sword between his breasts (and pressed it with great force) till it came out between his shoulders. Then the man (who was watching that person) went quickly to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and said, ‘I testify that you are Allah's Apostle (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).’ The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) asked him, ‘why do you say that?’ He said, ‘you said about so-and-so, 'if anyone would like to see a man from the people of the Fire, he should look at him.' He fought most bravely of all of us on behalf of the Muslims and I knew that he would not die as a Muslim (Martyr). So, when he got wounded, he hastened to die and committed suicide.’ There-upon the Prophet ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘a man may do the deeds of the people of the Fire while in fact he is one of the people of Paradise, and he may do the deeds of the people of Paradise while in fact he belongs to the people of Fire, and verily, (the rewards of) the deeds are decided by the last actions (deeds).’
حضرت سہل بن سعد ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ ایک لڑائی میں شرکت کی۔ بلاشبہ وہ بہت سے مسلمانوں سے کفایت کرتے ہوئے (کافروں کے مقابلے میں اکیلا) بڑی بہادری سے لڑ رہا تھا۔ نبی ﷺ نے اسے دیکھ کر فرمایا: ”جو شخص کسی جہنمی کو دیکھنا چاہتا ہے وہ اس شخص کو دیکھ لے۔“ چنانچہ وہ شخص جب لڑنےمیں مصروف تھا اور مشرکین کو اپنی بہادری کی وجہ سے سخت تر تکالیف میں مبتلا کررہا تھا تو ایک مسلمان اس کے پیچھے پیچھے چلا۔ آخر وہ زخمی ہوگیا اور جلدی سے مرنا چاہا، اس لیے اس نے اپنی تلوار کی نوک سینے کے درمیان رکھی اور دباؤ دیا تو وہ تلوار اس کے شانوں کو پار کرتی ہوئی نکل گئی۔ اس کے بعد اس کا پیچھا کرنے والا شخص نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں دوڑتا ہوا حاضر ہوا اور کہا: میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ آپ اللہ کے رسول ہیں۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”بات کیا ہے؟“ اس نے کہا: آپ نے فلاں فلاں شخص کے بارے میں فرمایا تھا: ”جو کسی جہنمی کو دیکھنا چاہے وہ اس کو دیکھ لے۔“ حالانکہ وہ شخص مسلمانوں کی طرف سے پامردی سے لڑ رہا تھا۔ میں سمجھا کہ وہ کفر پر نہیں مرے گا لیکن جب وہ سخت زخمی ہو گیا تو مرنے میں جلدی سے کام لیا اور خود کشی کر لی۔ نبی ﷺ نے اس وقت فرمایا: ”بلاشبہ بندہ اہل جہنم کے سے عمل کرتا رہتا ہے حالانکہ وہ جنتی ہوتا ہے اسی طرح دوسرا آدمی اہل جنت کے کام کرتا رہتا ہے حالانکہ وہ دوذخی ہوتاہے۔ یقیناً اعمال کا اعتبار خاتمے ہر موقوف ہے۔“
Hazrat Sahl bin Sa'd (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke ek aadmi ne Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ke saath ek ladayi mein shirkat ki. Bilashuba woh bohat se Musalmano se kifayat karte hue (kafiron ke muqable mein akela) badi bahadri se lada raha tha. Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne ise dekh kar farmaya: 'Jo shakhs kisi jahannami ko dekhna chahta hai woh is shakhs ko dekh le.' Chunanche woh shakhs jab ladne mein masroof tha aur mushrikeen ko apni bahadri ki wajah se sakht-tareen takaleef mein mubtala kar raha tha toh ek Musalman us ke peeche peeche chala. Aakhir woh zakhmi ho gaya aur jaldi se marna chaha, is liye us ne apni talwar ki nauk seene ke darmiyan rakkhi aur dabao diya toh woh talwar us ke shanon ko paar karti hui nikal gayi. Is ke baad is ka peecha karne wala shakhs Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ki khidmat mein daudta hua hazir hua aur kaha: Main gawahi deta hoon ke Aap Allah ke Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) hain. Aap ne farmaya: 'Baat kya hai?' Us ne kaha: Aap ne falan falan shakhs ke bare mein farmaya tha: 'Jo kisi jahannami ko dekhna chahe woh is ko dekh le'. Halanke woh shakhs Musalmano ki taraf se pamardi se lada raha tha. Main samjha ke woh kufr par nahi mare ga lekin jab woh sakht zakhmi ho gaya toh marne mein jaldi se kaam liya aur khud-kushi kar li. Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne us waqt farmaya: 'Bilashuba banda ahl-e-jahannam ke se amal karta rehta hai halanke woh jannati hota hai isi tarah dusra aadmi ahl-e-jannat ke kaam karta rehta hai halanke woh dozakhi hota hai. Yaqeenan amaal ka aetibar khatme par mauqoof hai.'
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَعْظَمِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ غَنَاءً عَنِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ غَزَاهَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَنَظَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى هَذَا ، فَاتَّبَعَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ وَهُوَ عَلَى تِلْكَ الْحَالِ مِنْ أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَتَّى جُرِحَ ، فَاسْتَعْجَلَ الْمَوْتَ فَجَعَلَ ذُبَابَةَ سَيْفِهِ بَيْنَ ثَدْيَيْهِ ، حَتَّى خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْنِ كَتِفَيْهِ ، فَأَقْبَلَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسْرِعًا ، فَقَالَ : أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : وَمَا ذَاكَ ؟ قَالَ : قُلْتَ لِفُلَانٍ : مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَيْهِ ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَعْظَمِنَا غَنَاءً عَنِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّهُ لَا يَمُوتُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ، فَلَمَّا جُرِحَ اسْتَعْجَلَ الْمَوْتَ ، فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ : إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَعْمَلُ عَمَلَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، وَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَيَعْمَلُ عَمَلَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، وَإِنَّمَا الْأَعْمَالُ بِالْخَوَاتِيمِ .
