Sahih al-Bukhari 6642
Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: While Allah's Apostle was sitting, reclining his back against a Yemenite leather tent he said to his companions, Will you be pleased to be one-fourth of the people of Paradise? They said, 'Yes.' He said Won't you be pleased to be one-third of the people of Paradise They said, Yes. He said, By Him in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, I hope that you will be one-half of the people of Paradise.
حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود ؓ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا: ایک دفعہ رسول اللہ ﷺ یمنی چمڑے کے خیمے سے پشت لگائے بیٹھے تھے کہ آپ نے اپنے صحابہ کرام سے فرمایا کیا تم اس پر خوش ہو کہ تم اہل جنت کا چوتھا حصہ بنو؟ انہوں نے کہا: کیوں نہیں۔ پھر آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”کیا تم اس پر خوش نہیں ہوکہ تم اہل جنت کا ایک تہائی حصہ ہو جاؤ؟“ اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم اہل جنت کا نصف ہوگے۔
Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (Razi Allahu Anhu) se riwayat hai unhon ne kaha: Ek dafa Rasool Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) Yemeni chamde ke khaime se pusht lagaye baithe the ke Aap ne apne Sahaba Kiram se farmaya: 'Kya tum is par khush ho ke tum ahl-e-jannat ka chautha hissa bano?' Unhon ne kaha: Kyon nahi. Phir Aap (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ne farmaya: 'Kya tum is par khush nahi ho ke tum ahl-e-jannat ka ek tihayi hissa ho jao? Us Zaat ki qasam jis ke hath mein meri jaan hai! mujhe umeed hai ke tum ahl-e-jannat ka nisf ho ge.'
حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُرَيْحُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ مَيْمُونٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُضِيفٌ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى قُبَّةٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ يَمَانٍ ، إِذْ قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ : أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ؟ ، قَالُوا : بَلَى ، قَالَ : أَفَلَمْ تَرْضَوْا أَنْ تَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ؟ ، قَالُوا : بَلَى ، قَالَ : فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا نِصْفَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ .
