Sahih al-Bukhari 6734
Al-Aswad bin Yazid narrated that Mu`adh bin Jabal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) came to us in Yemen as a tutor and a ruler, and we (the people of Yemen) asked him about (the distribution of the property of ) a man who had died leaving a daughter and a sister. Mu`adh (رضي الله تعالى عنه) gave the daughter one-half of the property and gave the sister the other half.
حضرت اسود بن یزید سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا: ہمارے پاس یمن میں حضرت معاذ بن جبل ؓ معلم یا امیر کی حیثیت سے آئے ہم نے ان سے ایک ایسے شخص کے ترکے کے متعلق دریافت کیا جس کی وفات ہوئی ہو اور اس نے ایک بیٹی اور بہن چھوڑی ہو تو انہوں نے بیٹی کو نصف اور بہن کو نصف دیا۔
Hazrat Aswad bin Yazid se riwayat hai unhone kaha: Hamare paas Yemen mein Hazrat Muadh bin Jabal (Radi Allahu Anhu) muallim ya ameer ki haisiyat se aaye hum ne un se ek aise shakhs ke tarke ke mutaliq daryaft kiya jis ki wafat hui ho aur us ne ek beti aur behen chhodi ho to unhone beti ko nisf aur behen ko nisf diya.
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : أَتَانَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ ، بِالْيَمَنِ مُعَلِّمًا وَأَمِيرًا ، فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ تُوُفِّيَ وَتَرَكَ ابْنَتَهُ وَأُخْتَهُ ، فَأَعْطَى الِابْنَةَ النِّصْفَ ، وَالْأُخْتَ النِّصْفَ .
