Sahih al-Bukhari 913
As-Saib bin Yazid (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the person who increased the number of Adhans for the Jumua prayers to three was `Uthman bin Affan (رضي الله تعالى عنه) and it was when the population of Muslims of Medina had increased. In the lifetime of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) there was only one Mu'adh-dhin and the Adhan used to be pronounced only after the Imam had taken his seat (on the pulpit).
حضرت سائب بن یزید ؓ سے روایت ہے کہ جب اہل مدینہ کی آبادی زیادہ ہو گئی تو اس وقت جمعہ کے دن تیسری اذان کا اہتمام کرنے والے حضرت عثمان ؓ تھے۔ اور نبی ﷺ کا تو ایک ہی مؤذن تھا۔ اور جمعہ کے دن اس وقت اذان دی جاتی تھی جب امام منبر پر بیٹھ جاتا تھا۔
Hazrat Saib bin Yazid (Radiyallahu Anhu) se riwayat hai ke jab ahl-e-Madina ki aabadi zyada ho gayi to is waqt Jummah ke din teesri azan ka ahtimam karne wale Hazrat Usman (Radiyallahu Anhu) thay. Aur Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) ka to ek hi moazzin tha. Aur Jummah ke din is waqt azan di jati thi jab imam minbar par baith jata tha.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ الْمَاجِشُونُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، أَنَّ الَّذِي زَادَ التَّأْذِينَ الثَّالِثَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ حِينَ كَثُرَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُؤَذِّنٌ غَيْرَ وَاحِدٍ ، وَكَانَ التَّأْذِينُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ حِينَ يَجْلِسُ الْإِمَامُ يَعْنِي عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ .
