Chapter on what Allah honored the Prophet, peace be upon him, with in the descent of food from the sky

باب ما أكرم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بنزول الطعام من السماء

Sunan al-Darimi 56

Narrated by Muslih Skuni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) that we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when a man said: “O Messenger of Allah, were you provided food from the sky?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes, I was brought food." He said: “O Prophet of Allah, was there any of it left over?” He said: "Yes, there was some left over.” He said: “Then what happened to it?” He said: “It was taken up to the sky, and it was revealed to me that I will stay with you for a short time, and you will remain and start saying ‘when, when?’ (when will the Day of Judgment come). Then, you will come to me in small groups, killing and looting one another. There will be many deaths near the Day of Judgment, and then years of earthquakes will come.”

سیدنا مسلمہ السکونی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ہم رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس تھے کہ ایک شخص نے کہا: اے اللہ کے رسول! کیا آپ کو آسمان سے کھانا مہیا کیا گیا؟ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں میرے پاس کھانا لایا گیا“، اس نے کہا: اے اللہ کے نبی! اس میں سے کچھ بچا بھی تھا، فرمایا: ”ہاں بچا تھا“، کہا: پھر وہ کیا ہوا؟ فرمایا: ”آسمان پر اٹھا لیا گیا اور مجھے وحی کی گئی کہ میں تمہارے ساتھ بہت کم ٹھہروں گا اور تم لوگ موجود رہو گے اور کہنے لگو گے کب کب؟ (قیامت آئے گی)، پھرتم چھوٹی ٹولیوں میں میرے پاس ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ قتل و غارتگری کرتے ہوئے آؤ گے، قرب قیامت بہت اموات ہوں گی اور اس کے بعد زلزلوں کے سال آ ئیں گے۔“

Sayyidina Muslimah al-Sakuni (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se riwayat hai ki hum Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas thay ki ek shakhs ne kaha: Aye Allah ke Rasul! Kya aap ko aasman se khana muhayya kiya gaya? Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Haan mere pass khana laya gaya", usne kaha: Aye Allah ke Nabi! Is mein se kuch bacha bhi tha, farmaya: "Haan bacha tha", kaha: Phir woh kya hua? Farmaya: "Aasman par utha liya gaya aur mujhe wahi ki gayi ki main tumhare saath bahut kam thahrun ga aur tum log mojood raho ge aur kehne lago ge kab kab? (Qayamat aye gi), phir tum chhoti toliyon mein mere pass ek doosre ke sath qatal o gharatgarti karte huye aao ge, qurb qayamat bahut amwat hon gi aur uske baad zalzalon ke saal aaen ge."

(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَرْطَاةُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مَسْلَمَةَ السَّكُونِيَّ، وَقَالَ غَيْرُ مُحَمَّدٍ: سَلَمَةَ السَّكُونِيَّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ قَالَ قَائِلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، هَلْ أُتِيتَ بِطَعَامٍ مِنْ السَّمَاءِ؟، قَالَ: "نَعَمْ أُتِيتُ بِطَعَامٍ"، قَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، هَلْ كَانَ فِيهِ مِنْ فَضْلٍ؟، قَالَ:"نَعَمْ"، قَالَ: فَمَا فُعِلَ بِهِ؟، قَالِ:"رُفِعَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، وَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنِّي غَيْرُ لَابِثٍ فِيكُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا، ثُمَّ تَلْبَثُونَ، حَتَّى تَقُولُوا: مَتَى مَتَى؟ ثُمَّ تَأْتُونِي أَفْنَادًا يُفْنِي بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا، بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ مُوتَانٌ شَدِيدٌ، وَبَعْدَهُ سَنَوَاتُ الزَّلَازِلِ".

Sunan al-Darimi 57

It is narrated by Samrah bin Jundab (may Allah be pleased with him) that a bowl full of Tharid (a dish made of meat and bread soaked in broth) was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and placed in front of the people. And people kept eating from it in turns from morning till noon, one group would stand and another would sit. A man asked Samrah bin Jundab (may Allah be pleased with him): "Was something else added to this bowl or plate?" Samrah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "Why are you surprised?" And he pointed towards the sky and said: "Food was coming into it from there."

سیدنا سمرہ بن جندب رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس ثرید سے بھرا ہوا ایک برتن لایا گیا اور لوگوں کے سامنے رکھ دیا گیا اور صبح سے دوپہر تک لوگ باری باری اس سے کھانا تناول کرتے رہے، ایک جماعت کھڑی ہوتی اور دوسری جماعت بیٹھ جاتی۔ ایک آدمی نے سیدنا سمرہ بن جندب رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: کیا اس برتن یا پیالے میں اور کچھ ڈالا گیا تھا؟ سیدنا سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: تمہیں تعجب کیوں ہے؟ اور انہوں نے آسمان کی طرف اشارہ کیا اور کہا: اس میں وہاں سے کھانا آ رہا تھا۔

Sayyeda Sumrah bin Jundub Raziallahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas sarid se bhara hua ek bartan laya gaya aur logon ke samne rakh diya gaya aur subah se dopahar tak log bari bari us se khana تناول karte rahe, ek jamaat khadi hoti aur dusri jamaat baith jati. Ek aadmi ne Sayyeda Sumrah bin Jundub Raziallahu Anhu se kaha: kya is bartan ya pyaale mein aur kuch dala gaya tha? Sayyeda Sumrah Raziallahu Anhu ne kaha: tumhe taajjub kyun hai? Aur unhon ne aasman ki taraf ishara kiya aur kaha: is mein wahan se khana aa raha tha.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ مِنْ ثَرِيدٍ"، فَوُضِعَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ الْقَوْمِ، فَتَعَاقَبُوهَا إِلَى الظُّهْرِ مِنْ غُدْوَةٍ، يَقُومُ قَوْمٌ وَيَجْلِسُ آخَرُونَ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لِسَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ: أَمَا كَانَتْ تُمَدُّ؟، فَقَالَ سَمُرَةُ: مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَعْجَبُ؟ مَا كَانَتْ تُمَدُّ إِلَّا مِنْ هَا هُنَا، وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ.
