Chapter on making the takbir during the Fajr adhan

باب في وقت أذان الفجر

Sunan al-Darimi 1223

Salim narrated from his father (Abdullah bin Umar) that he narrated from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said: "Bilal gives the Adhan at night, so you may eat and drink until the son of Umm Maktum gives the Adhan."


Grade: Sahih

سالم نے اپنے والد (عبداللہ بن عمر) سے روایت کیا وہ مرفوعاً روایت کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ بلال تو رات میں اذان دیتے ہیں، اس لئے تم کھاتے پیتے رہو یہاں تک کہ ام مکتوم کے بیٹے اذان دیں۔

Salem ne apne walid (Abdullah bin Umar) se riwayat kiya woh marfooan riwayat karte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ke Bilal to raat mein azan dete hain, is liye tum khate peete raho yahan tak ke Umm Maktum ke bete azan den.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، يَرْفَعُهُ قَالَ:"إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ، فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ".

Sunan al-Darimi 1224

It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidah Aisha Radi Allahu Anha that the Holy Prophet ﷺ had two muezzins, Bilal and the son of Umm Maktum. So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Bilal gives the adhan while it is still night, so you should eat and drink until you hear the adhan of Ibn Umm Maktum.” Qasim said: “There was such a gap between their two adhansas that one (group of people) would come down (after finishing their suhoor) and the other would go up (to the mosque for Fajr prayer).”

سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے دو مؤذن تھے، بلال اور ام مکتوم کے بیٹے، چنانچہ اللہ کے رسول ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”بلال تو رات رہتے ہوئے اذان دیتے ہیں، سو تم کھاتے پیتے رہو یہاں تک کہ ابن ام مکتوم کی اذان سنو۔“ قاسم نے کہا: ان دونوں کی اذانوں میں اتنا وقفہ تھا کہ ایک اترتے اور دوسرے (اذان کے لئے) چڑھتے تھے۔

Sada Aisha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke do muazzin the, Bilal aur Umm Maktum ke bete, chunanchi Allah ke Rasul (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Bilal to raat rahte hue azan dete hain, so tum khate pite raho yahan tak ki Ibn Umm Maktum ki azan suno." Qasim ne kaha: In donon ki azanon mein itna waqfa tha ki ek utarte aur dusre (azan ke liye) chadte the.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، أَنْبَأَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهِ عَنْهُمَا، وَعَنْ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُؤَذِّنَانِ: بِلَالٌ وَابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:"إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ، فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا أَذَانَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ". فَقَالَ الْقَاسِمُ: وَمَا كَانَ بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَنْزِلَ هَذَا، وَيَرْقَى هَذَا.
