Chapter on indicating (Ishaara) in the Tashahhud

باب الإشارة في التشهد

Sunan al-Darimi 1375

Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in prayer (at the time of tashahhud) supplicating (pointing) like this," Ibn 'Uyainah pointed with his finger and Abu Al-Walid said, "With the index finger."

سیدنا عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا: میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو دیکھا نماز میں (تشہد کے وقت) اس طرح دعا (اشارہ) کرتے تھے، ابن عیینہ نے اپنی انگلی سے اشارہ کیا اور ابوالولید نے (بتایا کہ) شہادت کی انگلی سے اشارہ کیا۔

Sayyidna Abdullah bin Zubair ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne kaha: mein ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko dekha namaz mein (tashahhud ke waqt) is tarah dua (ishara) karte thay, Ibn e Aine ne apni ungli se ishara kiya aur Abu Al Walid ne (bataya ke) shahadat ki ungli se ishara kiya.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "يَدْعُو هَكَذَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ، وَأَشَارَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ بِأُصْبُعِهِ، وَأَشَارَ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ بِالسَّبَّاحَةِ".

Sunan al-Darimi 1376

It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would sit at the end of the prayer (for the tashahhud), he would place his left hand on his left knee and his right hand on his right knee, keeping his index finger raised.


Grade: Sahih

سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ جب نماز کے آخر میں (تشہد کے لئے) بیٹھتے، بایاں ہاتھ بائیں گھٹنے پر اور دایاں ہاتھ دائیں گھٹنے پر رکھتے اور انگلی کھڑی رکھتے تھے۔

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab namaz ke akhir mein (tashahhud ke liye) baithte, bayan hath bayen ghutne par aur dayan hath dayen ghutne par rakhte aur ungli khari rakhte the.

أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ "إِذَا قَعَدَ فِي آخِرِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ الْيُسْرَى، وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ الْيُمْنَى، وَنَصَبَ إِصْبَعَهُ".
