Chapter on the Tashahhud

باب التسليم في الصلاة

Sunan al-Darimi 1383

Sayyiduna Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would turn his face to the right (to give salaam) the whiteness of his cheek would become visible, then he would turn his face to the left (to give salaam) and the whiteness of (his left) cheek would become visible."


Grade: Sahih

سیدنا سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: رسول اللہ ﷺ اپنے دائیں طرف سلام پھیرتے تو آپ کے رخسار کی سفیدی دکھائی دینے لگتی پھر بائیں طرف سلام پھیرتے تو (بائیں) رخسار کی سفیدی دکھائی دیتی۔

Sayyidna Saad bin Abi Waqas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apne daayen taraf salam pherte to aap ke rukhsar ki safedi dikhayi dene lagti phir baayen taraf salam pherte to (baayen) rukhsar ki safedi dikhayi deti.

حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:"كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ، ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ".

Sunan al-Darimi 1384

Abu Umar said: In Mecca, I prayed behind a man and he turned to give salaam on both sides. I mentioned this to Abdullah bin Masud, may Allah be pleased with him, so he said: "Where did he get this (Sunnah) from?" And the narrator said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to do the same.

ابومعمر نے کہا: مکہ میں میں نے ایک آدمی کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی اور اس نے دونوں طرف سلام پھیرا، میں نے اس کا تذکرہ سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے کیا تو انہوں نے کہا: اسے یہ (سنت) کہاں سے مل گئی؟ اور حکم نے کہا: نبی کریم ﷺ ایسا ہی کرتے تھے۔

Abuamr ne kaha: Makkah mein maine ek aadmi ke peechhe namaz parhi aur usne donon taraf salam phera, maine iska tazkira Sayyidna Abdullah bin Masood (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se kiya to unhon ne kaha: ise ye (Sunnat) kahan se mil gayi? Aur Hukm ne kaha: Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aisa hi karte the.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ، وَمَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَجُلٍ بِمَكَّةَ "فَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيمَتَيْنِ"، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ: أَنَّى عَلِقَهَا؟ وَقَالَ الْحَكَمُ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ.
