Sabra (Ibn Ma'bad Al-Jahni) reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Teach the child to pray when he is seven years old, and beat him for it (if he refuses) when he is ten."

سبره (بن معبد جہنی) سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”سات سال کے بچے کو نماز پڑھنا سکھاؤ اور جب دس سال کا ہو تو نماز پڑھنے کے لئے اسے مارو۔“
Sabra (bin Maabad Jahni) se riwayat hai keh Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Saat saal ke bacche ko namaz parhna sikhao aur jab das saal ka ho to namaz parhne ke liye use maro."
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الْجُهَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "عَلِّمُوا الصَّبِيَّ الصَّلَاةَ ابْنَ سَبْعِ سِنِينَ، وَاضْرِبُوهُ عَلَيْهَا ابْنَ عَشْرٍ".
