It is narrated on the authority of Aws ibn Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever takes a bath on Friday, and bathes (his head), then sets out early (for the Friday prayer), then draws near to the Imam and listens to the Khutbah quietly, not indulging in any frivolous activity until the Imam concludes (the prayer), then for him there is a reward for every step he took, equivalent to the reward of fasting and praying (in the night) for a year."

اوس (بن اوس ثقفی رضی اللہ عنہ) سے مروی ہے: رسول الله ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”جو شخص جمعہ کو نہائے اور نہلائے، پھر سویرے سویرے (جمعہ کے لئے) نکلے، پھر امام کے قریب بیٹھے، اور خاموشی سے خطبہ سنے، لغو حرکت نہ کرے یہاں تک کہ امام فارغ ہو جائے، تو اس کو ہر قدم پر ایک سال کے روزے اور قیام (عبادت) کا سا ثواب ہے۔“
Aows (bin Aows Saqafi Radi Allaho Anho) se marvi hai: Rasool Allah Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ne farmaya: “Jo shakhs jumma ko nahaye aur nahlaye, phir sawere sawere (jumma ke liye) nikle, phir imam ke qareeb baithe, aur khamoshi se khutba sune, laghu harkat na kare yahan tak ke imam farigh ho jaye, to us ko har qadam par ek saal ke roze aur qayam (ibadat) ka sa sawab hai.”
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ هُوَ ابْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ، يَرُدُّهُ إِلَى أَوْسِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، يَرُدُّهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "مَنْ غَسَّلَ وَاغْتَسَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، ثُمَّ غَدَا وَابْتَكَرَ، ثُمَّ جَلَسَ قَرِيبًا مِنْ الْإِمَامِ وَأَنْصَتَ، وَلَمْ يَلْغُ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ الْإِمَامُ، كَانَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ يَخْطُوهَا كَعَمَلِ سَنَةٍ صِيَامِهَا وَقِيَامِهَا".
