Chapter on when to throw stones at Jamrat al-Aqaba

باب في جمرة العقبة أي ساعة ترمى

Sunan al-Darimi 1936

'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Uthman reported from his father that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded us during the Farewell Pilgrimage to throw pebbles at Jamrat al-'Aqabah with small stones.

عبدالرحمٰن بن عثمان تیمی نے اپنے والد سے روایت کیا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے حجۃ الوداع میں ہمیں حکم دیا کہ ہم جمرہ عقبہ کی رمی چھوٹی چھوٹی کنکریوں سے کر لیں۔

abdulrahman bin usman tami ne apne walid se riwayat kiya keh rasool allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne hajjat alwida mein hamen hukm diya keh hum jumrah uqbah ki rami chhoti chhoti kankriyon se kar len.

أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، قَالَ:"أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ أَنْ نَرْمِيَ الْجَمْرَةَ بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ".

Sunan al-Darimi 1937

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded the people to hasten their pace in the valley of Muhassir, so they threw pebbles and hastened their pace. He said, “Take it easy,” meaning other than the valley of Muhassir.

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان لوگوں کو حکم فرمایا، پس انہوں نے چھوٹی چھوٹی کنکریوں سے رمی کی اور وادی محسّر میں رفتار تیز رکھی، اور فرمایا: ”(سکون سے) آہستہ چلو۔“ (یعنی وادی محسّر کے علاوہ)۔

Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un logon ko hukm farmaya, pas unhon ne chhoti chhoti kankriyon se rami ki aur wadi muhassir mein raftar tez rakhi, aur farmaya: “(sukoon se) aahista chalo.” (yani wadi muhassir ke ilawa).

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ:"أَمَرَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَمَوْا بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ، وَأَوْضَعَ فِي وَادِي مُحَسِّرٍ، وَقَالَ: عَلَيْكُمْ السَّكِينَةَ".

Sunan al-Darimi 1938

It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Maadh, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, commanded us to throw small pebbles at the Jamarat. Imam Darimi, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: Is Abdur Rahman bin Maadh a companion? He said: Yes.

سیدنا عبدالرحمٰن بن معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ ہم کو چھوٹی چھوٹی کنکریوں سے رمی جمار کا حکم فرماتے تھے۔ امام دارمی رحمہ اللہ سے پوچھا گیا: کیا عبدالرحمٰن بن معاذ صحابی ہیں؟ فرمایا: ہاں۔

Sayyidna Abdur Rahman bin Muaz (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hum ko chhoti chhoti kankriyon se rami jamar ka hukum farmate thay. Imam Darmi Rahmatullah Alaih se poocha gaya: kya Abdur Rahman bin Muaz sahabi hain? Farmaya: haan.

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ "نَرْمِيَ الْجِمَارَ بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ". قِيلَ لِأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ: عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ.
