Sunan al-Darimi 155
Silah ibn Rashid said: I asked Imam Tawus, may Allah have mercy on him, about a matter. He said: Has this matter already happened? I said: Yes. He said: Then swear by Allah that it has happened. I said: By Allah, it has happened. Then he said: Our companions narrated to us from Sayyiduna Mu'adh ibn Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: Do not rush into a matter before its time of occurrence in times of tribulation and distress. Perhaps it will lead you astray. If you do not rush into a matter before its time, you will not be saved from it while there are people who, when asked, will give you the correct answer, and when they speak, will say what is correct.

صلت بن راشد نے کہا: میں نے امام طاؤوس رحمہ اللہ سے کسی مسئلہ کے بارے میں پوچھا تو انہوں نے دریافت کیا: کیا یہ مسئلہ وقوع پذیر ہوا ہے؟ میں نے کہا: جی ہاں، تو کہا: قسم کھاؤ ایسا ہو چکا ہے، میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کی قسم ایسا ہو چکا ہے، پھر انہوں نے کہا: ہمارے ساتھیوں نے ہمیں سیدنا معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ سے یہ خبر دی ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا: بلاء و مصیبت کے سلسلہ میں اس کے نزول سے پہلے جلد بازی نہ کرو، ہو سکتا ہے وہ تمہیں ادھر ادھر بھٹکا لے جائے، اگر تم مصیبت کے نزول سے پہلے جلد بازی نہ کرو گے تو اس سے بچ نہ سکو گے جب ایسے لوگ رہیں گے جن سے پوچھا جائے تو صحیح جواب دیں اور جب کہیں تو صحیح کہیں۔
Salt bin Rashid ne kaha: mein ne Imam Tawoos rehmatullah alaih se kisi masle ke bare mein poocha to unhon ne darayaft kiya: kya ye masla woqo pazeer hua hai? mein ne kaha: ji han, to kaha: qasam khao aisa ho chuka hai, mein ne arz kiya: Allah ki qasam aisa ho chuka hai, phir unhon ne kaha: humare sathiyon ne hamein Sayyidna Muaz bin Jabal razi Allah anhu se ye khabar di hai ke unhon ne kaha: bala o musibat ke silsile mein is ke nuzool se pehle jaldbazi na karo, ho sakta hai woh tumhein idhar udhar bhatka le jaye, agar tum musibat ke nuzool se pehle jaldbazi na karo ge to is se bach na sako ge jab aise log rahenge jin se poocha jaye to sahi jawab den aur jab kahen to sahi kahen.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ طَاوُسًا عَنْ مَسْأَلَةٍ، فَقَالَ لِي: كَانَ هَذَا؟، قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: آللَّهِ، قُلْتُ: آللَّهِ، ثُمّ قَالَ: إِنَّ أَصْحَابَنَا أَخْبَرُونَا عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:"يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، لَا تَعْجَلُوا بِالْبَلَاءِ قَبْلَ نُزُولِهِ , فَيُذْهَبُ بِكُمْ هَهُنَا وَهَهُنَا، فَإِنَّكُمْ إِنْ لَمْ تَعْجَلُوا بِالْبَلَاءِ قَبْلَ نُزُولِهِ، لَمْ يَنْفَكَّ الْمُسْلِمُونَ أَنْ يَكُونَ فِيهِمْ مَنْ إِذَا سُئِلَ، سُدَّدَ، وَإِذَا قَالَ , وُفِّقَ".
