Sunan al-Darimi 1799
Salma bin Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a message to a man from the tribe of Aslam on the day of Ashura, saying: "This is the day of Ashura, so whoever has eaten something should complete the rest of the day fasting, and whoever has not eaten or drunk anything should fast this day."

سیدنا سلمہ بن اکوع رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے قبیلہ اسلم کے ایک شخص کو یہ پیغام لے کر عاشوراء کے دن بھیجا کہ یہ عاشوراء کا دن ہے اور جس نے کچھ کھا پی لیا ہے وہ بقیہ دن روزہ پورا کرے، اور جس نے کھایا پیا نہیں ہے وہ اس دن کا روزہ رکھے۔
Sayyidina Salma bin Akwa (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne qabeela Aslam ke ek shakhs ko yeh paigham lekar Ashura ke din bheja ki yeh Ashura ka din hai aur jis ne kuch khaya pi liya hai woh baqiya din roza poora kare, aur jis ne khaya piya nahi hai woh is din ka roza rakhe.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ:"إِنَّ الْيَوْمَ يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ، فَمَنْ كَانَ أَكَلَ أَوْ شَرِبَ، فَلْيُتِمَّ بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِهِ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَكَلَ أَوْ شَرِبَ، فَلْيَصُمْهُ".
