Sunan al-Darimi 191
Shaqiq (bin Salmah) narrated that Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "What will you do when you will be surrounded by such trials in which the young will become old and the child will grow old, and people will take those trials (innovations) as Sunnah, and when an attempt will be made to change them, people will say: 'The Sunnah has been changed.' They asked: 'O Abu Abdur-Rahman! When will this happen?' He said: 'When your reciters (scholars) will be many and your jurists will be few, your rich will be many but your trustworthy will be few, and the Hereafter will be sought for the sake of the world.'"

شقیق (بن سلمہ) سے مروی ہے کہ سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: تم اس وقت کیا کرو گے جب تم ایسے فتنوں میں گھرے ہو گے جس میں جوان تو بوڑھا اور بچہ جوان ہو جائے گا، اور لوگ ان فتنوں (بدعتوں) کو ہی سنت بنا لیں گے، اور جب انہیں بدلنے کی کوشش کی جائے گی تو لوگ کہیں گے: سنت بدل دی گئی، لوگوں نے پوچھا: ابوعبدالرحمٰن! ایسا کب ہوگا؟ فرمایا: جب تمہارے قراء (علماء) بہت ہوں گے اور فقہاء کم ہو جائیں گے، امراء بہت ہوں گے لیکن امانت دار کم ہوں گے، عمل آخرت کے بجائے دنیا کی تلاش ہو گی۔
Shaqiq (bin Salma) se marvi hai ki Sayyidna Abdullah bin Masood razi Allah anhu ne farmaya: Tum us waqt kya karoge jab tum aise fitnon mein ghire hoge jis mein jawan to budha aur bacha jawan ho jayega, aur log in fitnon (bidaton) ko hi sunnat bana lenge, aur jab unhen badalne ki koshish ki jayegi to log kahenge: Sunnat badal di gayi, logon ne pucha: Abuabdurrehman! Aisa kab hoga? Farmaya: Jab tumhare qurra (ulama) bahut honge aur fuqha kam ho jayenge, umara bahut honge lekin amanatdaar kam honge, amal aakhirat ke bajaye duniya ki talash hogi.
(حديث موقوف) أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: "كَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ إِذَا لَبِسَتْكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ يَهْرَمُ فِيهَا الْكَبِيرُ وَيَرْبُو فِيهَا الصَّغِيرُ، وَيَتَّخِذُهَا النَّاسُ سُنَّةً، فَإِذَا غُيِّرَتْ، قَالُوا: غُيِّرَتْ السُّنَّةُ"، قَالُوا: وَمَتَى ذَلِكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ؟، قَالَ:"إِذَا كَثُرَتْ قُرَّاؤُكُمْ، وَقَلَّتْ فُقَهَاؤُكُمْ، وَكَثُرَتْ أُمَرَاؤُكُمْ، وَقَلَّتْ أُمَنَاؤُكُمْ، وَالْتُمِسَتِ الدُّنْيَا بِعَمَلِ الْآخِرَةِ".
