Sunan al-Darimi 2048
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about hunting with a reed or wooden arrow that has no metal tip. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If it kills the prey with its point, then eat it, and if it hits the prey with its side (width) and it dies, then it is 'maytah' (carrion), so do not eat it."

سیدنا عدی بن حاتم رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے بےپر کے تیر یا لکڑی سے شکار کے بارے میں پوچھا تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”جب اس کی نوک سے شکار مر جائے تو اسے کھاؤ اور اگر اس کی عرض (چوڑائی) کی طرف سے شکار کو لگے اور وہ مر جائے تو وہ «وقيذ» (مردار) ہے اسے نہ کھاؤ۔“
Sayyidna Adi bin Hatim Radi Allahu Anhu se marvi hai ki maine Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se be par ke teer ya lakdi se shikar ke baare mein pucha to aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: ”Jab is ki nok se shikar mar jaye to ise khao aur agar is ki arz (chaudai) ki taraf se shikar ko lage aur wo mar jaye to wo «Waqiz» (murdar) hai ise na khao“
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّفَرِ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْمِعْرَاضِ، فَقَالَ: "إِذَا أَصَابَ بِحَدِّهِ، فَكُلْ، وَإِذَا أَصَابَ بِعَرْضِهِ فَقَتَلَ، فَإِنَّهُ وَقِيذٌ، فَلَا تَأْكُلْ".
