Sunan al-Darimi 229
Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): It was asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Who is the most noble?" He replied: "The one with the most Taqwa (piety)." They said, "We are not asking about that." He said: "Then (the most noble is) Yusuf, the Prophet of Allah, the son of the Prophet of Allah, the son of the Prophet of Allah, the son of Khalil Ar-Rahman (the close friend of Allah)." They said: "We are not asking about that either." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Are you then asking about the (noble) families of the Arabs? Listen then, the noblest among them in Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic period) are the noblest in Islam, provided they comprehend the religion."

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے روایت کیا کہ عرض کیا گیا: یا رسول اللہ! سب سے زیادہ شریف کون ہے؟ فرمایا: ”جو سب سے زیادہ پرہیز گار ہو“، عرض کیا کہ ہم اس کے متعلق نہیں پوچھ رہے ہیں، فرمایا: ”پھر اللہ کے نبی یوسف بن نبی اللہ بن نبی اللہ بن خلیل اللہ (سب سے زیادہ شریف ہیں)“، صحابہ نے عرض کیا: ہم اس کے متعلق بھی نہیں پوچھتے، رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اچھا عرب کے خاندانوں کے بارے میں پوچھتے ہو؟ سنو جو جاہلیت میں شریف ہیں اسلام میں بھی شریف ہیں جب کہ دین کی سمجھ انہیں آ جائے۔“
Sidna Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne riwayat kiya keh arz kiya gaya Ya Rasul Allah sab se zyada sharif kaun hai Farmaya jo sab se zyada parhezgar ho arz kiya keh hum iske mutalliq nahin pooch rahe hain Farmaya phir Allah ke Nabi Yusuf bin Nabi Allah bin Nabi Allah bin Khalil Allah sab se zyada sharif hain Sahaba ne arz kiya hum iske mutalliq bhi nahin poochte Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam ne Farmaya achcha Arab ke khandano ke bare mein poochte ho suno jo jahiliyat mein sharif hain Islam mein bhi sharif hain jab keh deen ki samajh unhen aa jaye
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَكْرَمُ؟، قَالَ: "أَتْقَاهُمْ"، قَالُوا: لَيْسَ عَنْ هَذَا نَسْأَلُكَ، قَالَ:"فَيُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ بْنُ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ"، قَالُوا: لَيْسَ عَنْ هَذَا نَسْأَلُكَ، قَالَ:"فَعَنْ مَعَادِنِ الْعَرَبِ تَسْأَلُونِي؟ خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقُهُوا".
