Sunan al-Darimi 228
It is narrated by Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Muadh bin Jabal and Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with them both) to Yemen and said: "Trust each other, obey each other, be lenient and do not spread hatred." So when the two of them arrived in Yemen, Muadh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon and encouraged the people to Islam and ordered them to understand the Quran and said: "When you have done so, then ask me, I will tell you about the people of Paradise and Hell." So, as long as Allah willed, the people remained silent, then they said to Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him): "You ordered us that if we understood the Quran, we should ask you, so tell us about the people of Paradise and Hell". Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When a person is remembered with goodness, then he is from the people of Paradise, and when he is remembered with evil, then he is from the people of Hell."

روایت کیا سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے سیدنا معاذ بن جبل اور سیدنا ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہما کو یمن کی طرف بھیجا تو فرمایا: تم دونوں اعتماد رکھنا، اور ایک دوسرے کی بات ماننا، آسانی کرنا اور نفرت نہ پھیلانا، چنانچہ یہ دونوں حضرات یمن پہنچے تو سیدنا معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ نے خطبہ دیا اور لوگوں کو اسلام پر ابھارا اور انہیں قرآن کو سمجھنے کا حکم دیا اور کہا: جب تم نے ایسا کر لیا تو پھر مجھ سے پوچھنا، میں تمہیں جنت و جہنم والے لوگوں کے بارے میں بتاؤں گا، لہٰذا جب تک اللہ کی مشیت رہی وہ لوگ خاموش رہے، پھر سیدنا معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: آپ نے ہمیں حکم دیا تھا کہ اگر ہم نے قرآن کو سمجھ لیا تو آپ سے سوال کریں گے تو آپ ہمیں جنتی اور جہنمی لوگوں کے بارے میں بتائیں گے، چنانچہ سیدنا معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: جب آدمی کو بھلائی کے ساتھ یاد کیا جائے تو وہ جنتی لوگوں میں سے ہے، اور برائی کے ساتھ یاد کیا جائے تو جہنمیوں میں سے ہے۔
Riwayat kya Syedna Abdullah bin Umar ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne keh Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Syedna Muaz bin Jabal aur Syedna Abu Musa Ashari ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ko Yemen ki taraf bheja to farmaya: Tum donon aitmad rakhna, aur ek dusre ki baat manna, asani karna aur nafrat na phailana, chunancha yeh donon hazrat Yemen pahunche to Syedna Muaz bin Jabal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne khutba diya aur logon ko Islam per ubhaya aur unhen Quran ko samjhne ka hukum diya aur kaha: Jab tum ne aisa kar liya to phir mujh se puchna, mein tumhen Jannat o Jahannum wale logon ke bare mein bataunga, lihaza jab tak Allah ki mashiyat rahi woh log khamosh rahe, phir Syedna Muaz (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se kaha: Aap ne hamen hukum diya tha keh agar hum ne Quran ko samjh liya to aap se sawal karenge to aap hamen Jannati aur Jahannumi logon ke bare mein batayenge, chunancha Syedna Muaz (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne kaha: Jab aadmi ko bhalaayi ke sath yaad kiya jaye to woh Jannati logon mein se hai, aur buraayi ke sath yaad kiya jaye to Jahannumiyon mein se hai.
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي خَلِيفَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ زِيَادَ بْنَ مِخْرَاقٍ ذَكَرَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ، وَأَبَا مُوسَى إِلَى الْيَمَنِ , قَالَ: "تَسَانَدَا وَتَطَاوَعَا، وَبَشِّرَا وَلَا تُنَفِّرَا"، فَقَدِمَا الْيَمَنَ، فَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ مُعَاذٌ فَحَضَّهُمْ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، وَأَمَرَهُمْ بِالتَّفَقُّهِ فِي الْقُرْآنِ، وَقَالَ: إِذَا فَعَلْتُمْ ذَلِكَ، فَاسْأَلُونِي أُخْبِرْكُمْ عَنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، فَمَكَثُوا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَمْكُثُوا، فَقَالُوا لِمُعَاذٍ: قَدْ كُنْتَ أَمَرْتَنَا إِذَا نَحْنُ تَفَقَّهْنَا وَقَرَأْنَا أَنْ نَسْأَلَكَ فَتُخْبِرَنَا بِأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ مُعَاذٌ: إِذَا ذُكِرَ الرَّجُلُ بِخَيْرٍ، فَهُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ بِشَرٍّ فَهُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ.
