Sunan al-Darimi 2790
Our master Abdullah bin Masud, may Allah be pleased with him, said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to us: "Islam began in a state of strangeness and it will return to a state of strangeness just as it began." I think that Hafs said: So glad tidings to the strangers. It was said: Who are the strangers? He said: The people who have left their tribes (the poor and the travelers).

سیدنا عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: ہم سے رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اسلام غربت سے شروع ہوا اور پھر غریب ہو جائے گا جس طرح شروع ہوا تھا۔“ میرا گمان ہے حفص نے کہا: تو خوشی ہو غرباء کے لئے، کہا گیا: غرباء کون ہیں؟ کہا: قبائل سے نکلے ہوئے (غریب و مسافر) لوگ۔
Syedna Abdullah bin Masood raza ALLAHu anhu ne kaha: Hum se Rasool ALLAH (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: "Islam ghurbat se shuru hua aur phir ghareeb ho jaye ga jis tarah shuru hua tha." Mera gumaan hai Hafs ne kaha: To khushi ho ghuraba ke liye, kaha gaya: Ghuraba kaun hain? Kaha: Qabail se nikle hue (ghureeb o musafir) log.
حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِنَّ الْإِسْلَامَ بَدَأَ غَرِيبًا وَسَيَعُودُ غَرِيبًا أَظُنُّ حَفْصًا، قَالَ: فَطُوبَى لِلْغُرَبَاءِ"، قِيلَ: وَمَنِ الْغُرَبَاءُ؟، قَالَ:"النُّزَّاعُ مِنَ الْقَبَائِلِ".
