Chapter: Completing the recitation of the Quran (Khatm al-Quran).
باب: في ختم القرآن
Sunan al-Darimi 3509
Ibrahim Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "When a man recites the Quran at the beginning of the day, the angels send blessings upon him until the evening, and if he recites it at night (meaning, completes it), then the angels send blessings upon him until morning." (A'mash) Sulayman said: "This is why we saw our companions from amongst our contemporaries, they used to prefer completing the Quran at the beginning of the day and the beginning of the night."

ابراہیم النخعی رحمہ اللہ نے کہا: جب کوئی آدمی دن کے شروع میں قرآن پڑھ لے تو شام تک اس کے لئے فرشتے دعا کرتے ہیں اور اگر رات میں پڑھا (یعنی ختم کیا) تو صبح تک فرشتے دعا کرتے ہیں۔ (اعمش) سلیمان نے کہا: اسی لئے ہم نے اپنے ہم عصر ساتھیوں کو دیکھا کہ وہ دن کے شروع اور رات کے شروع میں قرآن ختم کرنے کو پسند کرتے تھے۔
Ibrahim alnakhi rahmatullah ne kaha: Jab koi aadmi din ke shuru mein quran padh le to sham tak uske liye farishte dua karte hain aur agar raat mein padha (yani khatam kiya) to subah tak farishte dua karte hain. (Aamesh) Sulaiman ne kaha: Isi liye humne apne hum asar saathiyon ko dekha ki wo din ke shuru aur raat ke shuru mein quran khatam karne ko pasand karte the.
(حديث مقطوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: "إِذَا قَرَأَ الرَّجُلُ الْقُرْآنَ نَهَارًا، صَلَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى يُمْسِيَ، وَإِنْ قَرَأَهُ لَيْلًا، صَلَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ". قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ: فَرَأَيْتُ أَصْحَابَنَا يُعْجِبُهُمْ أَنْ يَخْتِمُوهُ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ، وَأَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ.
