Sunan al-Darimi 737
Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set a time limit of three days and three nights for the traveler, and one day and one night for the resident, for wiping over the socks.

سیدنا علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ ﷺ نے مسافر کے لئے تین دن تین راتیں، اور مقیم کے لئے ایک دن ایک رات مدت مقرر فرمائی یعنی موزوں پر مسح کے لئے۔
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya: Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne musafir ke liye teen din teen raaten, aur muqeem ke liye ek din ek raat muddat muqarrar farmai yani mozon par masah ke liye.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: جَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ، وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ"، يَعْنِي: الْمَسْحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ.
