Chapter on the postpartum period and related rulings
باب: وقت النفساء وما قيل فيه
Sunan al-Darimi 985
It is narrated from Imam Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding women in postpartum bleeding that they should refrain from prayer for forty days. If they become pure within forty days, then it is fine; otherwise, they should refrain from prayer for another five or six days (45 days). Then, if purity is attained, then it is fine; otherwise, they should refrain from prayer for another five days, from 45 to 50. Then, if purity is attained, it is fine; otherwise, they will be considered menstruating.

امام حسن رحمہ اللہ سے نفاس والی عورتوں کے بارے میں مروی ہے کہ وہ چالیس دن تک نماز سے رکی رہیں گی، چالیس دن میں پا کی ہو جائے تو ٹھیک ہے، ورنہ پانچ یا چھ دن اور نماز سے رکی رہیں گی، (45 دن بعد) پھر اگر طہر ہو جائے تو ٹھیک ورنہ 45 سے 50 تک اور نماز سے رکی رہیں گی، پھر اگر پاکی ہو جائے تو ٹھیک ورنہ پھر مستحاضہ میں شمار ہوں گی۔
Imaam Hasan rehmatullah alaih se nifas wali auraton ke baare mein marvi hai ki woh chalis din tak namaz se ruki rahengi, chalis din mein paak ho jaye to theek hai, warna paanch ya chhe din aur namaz se ruki rahengi, (45 din baad) phir agar taher ho jaye to theek warna 45 se 50 tak aur namaz se ruki rahengi, phir agar paaki ho jaye to theek warna phir mustahaza mein shumaar hongi.
(حديث مقطوع) أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ فِي النُّفَسَاءِ "تُمْسِكُ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا، فَإِنْ رَأَتْ الطُّهْرَ فَذَاكَ، وَإِنْ لَمْ تَرَ الطُّهْرَ، أَمْسَكَتْ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ أَيَّامًا خَمْسًا، سِتًّا، فَإِنْ طَهُرَتْ فَذَاكَ، وَإِلَّا أَمْسَكَتْ عَنْ الصَّلَاةِ مَا بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ الْخَمْسِينَ، فَإِنْ طَهُرَتْ فَذَاكَ، وَإِلَّا فَهِيَ مُسْتَحَاضَةٌ".
