Sahih Ibn Hibban 1975
Suhaib reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once mentioned something that we did not understand. So, he said, "Did you understand me?" We said, "Yes." He said, "I mentioned a Prophet amongst the Prophets who was given an army from among his people. So, he said, 'Who will fight on behalf of these people?' So, Allah revealed to him to choose one of three things for his people: either He would send against them an enemy other than themselves, or famine, or death. So, he consulted his people in that matter. They said, 'You are the Prophet of Allah, we entrust that matter to you. Choose for us.' So, he stood up for his prayer. Whenever they were frightened, they would seek refuge in prayer. He prayed as long as Allah willed. Then he said, 'O my Lord! As for their enemy from other than themselves and the famine, no. Rather death!' So, death was inflicted upon them for three days, and seventy thousand of them died. So the prostration that you see me performing, I say: 'O Allah! By Your help I fight, and by Your help I strive, and there is no might nor power except with Allah.'"
سہیل رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک مرتبہ ایسی بات فرمائی جسے ہم سمجھ نہ سکے۔ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا تم نے میری بات سمجھی؟ ہم نے کہا جی ہاں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ میں ایک نبی کا ذکر کر رہا تھا جنہیں اپنی قوم میں سے ایک لشکر عطا کیا گیا تھا۔ تو انہوں نے کہا کہ ان لوگوں کی طرف سے کون لڑے گا؟ تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان پر وحی کی کہ اپنی قوم کے لیے تین چیزوں میں سے ایک چیز کا انتخاب کر لیں: یا تو وہ ان پر ان کے سوا کسی اور دشمن کو مسلط کرے گا، یا قحط، یا موت۔ تو انہوں نے اس معاملے میں اپنی قوم سے مشورہ کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ آپ اللہ کے نبی ہیں، ہم یہ معاملہ آپ کے سپرد کرتے ہیں۔ ہمارے لیے انتخاب کریں۔ تو وہ اپنی نماز کے لیے کھڑے ہو گئے۔ جب بھی وہ خوفزدہ ہوتے تو نماز کی پناہ لیتے۔ وہ اتنی دیر تک نماز پڑھتے رہے جتنی دیر اللہ نے چاہی۔ پھر انہوں نے کہا اے میرے رب! جہاں تک ان کے دشمن کا تعلق ہے جو ان کے سوا ہے اور قحط کا، نہیں۔ بلکہ موت! چنانچہ ان پر تین دن تک موت مسلط رہی اور ان میں سے ستر ہزار افراد ہلاک ہو گئے۔ تو یہ سجدہ جو تم مجھے کرتے ہوئے دیکھتے ہو میں کہتا ہوں اے اللہ! تیری مدد سے میں لڑتا ہوں اور تیری مدد سے میں کوشش کرتا ہوں اور اللہ کے سوا کوئی طاقت اور قوت نہیں ہے۔
Suhail Razi Allahu Anhu bayan karte hain keh Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne aik martaba aisi baat farmaayi jise hum samajh na sake. To aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya kya tum ne meri baat samjhi? Hum ne kaha jee haan. Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya keh mein aik nabi ka zikar kar raha tha jinhen apni qaum mein se aik lashkar ataa kiya gaya tha. To unhon ne kaha keh un logon ki taraf se kaun lare ga? To Allah Ta'ala ne un per wahi ki keh apni qaum ke liye teen cheezon mein se aik cheez ka intekhaab kar len: ya to woh un per un ke siwa kisi aur dushman ko musallat kare ga, ya qahat, ya maut. To unhon ne is mamle mein apni qaum se mashwara kiya. Unhon ne kaha keh aap Allah ke nabi hain, hum yeh mamla aap ke supurd karte hain. Hamare liye intekhaab karen. To woh apni namaz ke liye kharre ho gaye. Jab bhi woh khaufzada hote to namaz ki panah lete. Woh itni dair tak namaz parhte rahe jitni dair Allah ne chahi. Phir unhon ne kaha aye mere Rab! Jahan tak un ke dushman ka talluq hai jo un ke siwa hai aur qahat ka, nahin. Balkeh maut! Chunacha un per teen din tak maut musallat rahi aur un mein se sattar hazaar afrad halaak ho gaye. To yeh sijda jo tum mujhe karte huye dekhte ho mein kehta hun aye Allah! Teri madad se mein larta hun aur teri madad se mein koshish karta hun aur Allah ke siwa koi taqat aur quwwat nahin hai.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ هَمَسَ شَيْئًا لَا نَفْهَمُهُ فَقَالَ «أَفَطِنْتُمْ لِي؟ » قُلْنَا نَعَمْ قَالَ «إِنِّي ذَكَرْتُ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ أُعْطِيَ جُنُودًا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ مَنْ يَقُومُ لِهَؤُلَاءِ؟ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ اخْتَرْ لِقَوْمِكَ إِحْدَى ثَلَاثٍ إِمَّا أَنْ أُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ أَوِ الْجُوعَ أَوِ الْمَوْتَ فَاسْتَشَارَ قَوْمَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ فَقَالُوا أَنْتَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ نَكِلُ ذَلِكَ إِلَيْكَ خِرْ لَنَا فَقَامَ إِلَى صَلَاتِهِ وَكَانُوا إِذَا فَزِعُوا فَزِعُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ أَمَّا عَدُوُّهُمْ مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ وَالْجُوعُ فَلَا وَلَكِنِ الْمَوْتُ فَسُلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَوْتَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ فَمَاتَ مِنْهُمْ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا فَهَمْسِي الَّذِي تَرَوْنَ أَنْ أَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أُقَاتِلُ وَبِكَ أُصَاوِلُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ»
