Sahih Ibn Hibban 2122
Jabir narrated that: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) suffered from some ailment and prayed while sitting and Abu Bakr was leading the people in prayer and they could hear his Takbir. The Prophet (ﷺ) then looked towards us and saw us standing (in prayer) and beckoned to us, so we sat down and we offered prayer along with him while sitting. When he finished the prayer, he said: "You have been near to acting like the Persians and the Romans who stand before their kings (in humility) while the latter are seated. Don't do so. Follow (the practice) of your imam. If he prays standing, pray standing and if he prays sitting, pray sitting."
جَابِر رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہُ سے رِوَایت ہے کہ رَسُول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو کچھ تکلیف تھی، آپ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھ رہے تھے اور حضرت ابو بکر رضی اللہ عنہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھا رہے تھے، لوگ آپ کی تکبیر سن رہے تھے، نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہماری طرف دیکھا تو ہم کو کھڑے دیکھ کر ہمیں اشارہ کیا کہ بیٹھ جائیں تو ہم بیٹھ گئے اور آپ کے ساتھ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھی، جب آپ نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو فرمایا: ’’تم قریب تھے کہ فارسیوں اور رومیوں کا سا کام کرو جو اپنے بادشاہوں (کے ادب) کے لیے کھڑے ہوتے ہیں اور وہ بیٹھے رہتے ہیں، ایسا نہ کرو، اپنے امام کی اقتدا کرو، اگر وہ کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی کھڑے ہو کر پڑھو اور اگر وہ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھے تو تم بھی بیٹھ کر پڑھو۔‘‘
Jabir Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ko kuch takleef thi, Aap beth kar namaz parh rahe the aur Hazrat Abu Bakr Radi Allahu Anhu logon ko namaz parha rahe the, log Aap ki takbeer sun rahe the, Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne hamari taraf dekha to hamen khade dekh kar hamen ishara kiya ki beth jao to hum beth gaye aur Aap ke sath beth kar namaz parhi, jab Aap namaz se farigh hue to farmaya: ''Tum qareeb the ki Farsiyon aur Roman ka sa kaam karo jo apne badshahon (ke adab) ke liye khade hote hain aur wo bethe rehte hain, aisa na karo, apne imam ki iqtida karo, agar wo khade ho kar namaz parhe to tum bhi khade ho kar parho aur agar wo beth kar namaz parhe to tum bhi beth kar parho.''
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهِبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ اشْتَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّيْنَا وَرَاءَهُ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُكَبِّرُ يُسْمِعُ النَّاسَ تَكْبِيرَهُ قَالَ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَرَآنَا قِيَامًا فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَعَدْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا بِصَلَاتِهِ قُعُودًا فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ «كِدْتُمْ أَنْ تَفْعَلُوا فِعْلَ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومَ يَقُومُونَ عَلَى مُلُوكِهِمْ وَهُمْ قُعُودٌ فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا ائْتَمُّوا بِإِمَامِكُمْ إِنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَصَلُّوا قِيَامًا وَإِنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا»
