Sahih Ibn Hibban 2953
Ibn Abbas narrated that Umar ibn al-Khattab went out to Syria, until when he was in Sargh, the commanders of the army met him - Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah and his companions - and they informed him that the plague had broken out in Syria. Umar said, “Call the early emigrants to me." So, they were summoned and he consulted them and informed them that the plague had broken out in Syria. They differed in their opinions. Some of them said, “You have come out for an objective, so we do not think that you should return from it.” Others said, “The rest of the people and the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, are with you, and we do not think that you should bring them to this plague.” So, he said, "Move away from me." Then he said, “Call the Ansar to me.” So, they were summoned, and he consulted them, but they followed the same path as the emigrants and differed as they had differed. So he said, “Move away from me.” Then he said, “Call to me those who are here from the elders of Quraysh, those who emigrated at the time of the Conquest." So, they were summoned, and no two men differed from him. They said, “We think that you should return with the people and not bring them to this plague.” So, Umar announced to the people, “I will set out at dawn, so be ready." So, they became prepared for him. Then, Abu 'Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah said, “Are you fleeing from the decree of Allah?” Umar said, “If only someone else had said that, O Abu Ubaydah!” And Umar disliked contradicting him. “We are fleeing from the decree of Allah to the decree of Allah! Do you not see that if you had camels that descended into a valley with two slopes, one lush and the other barren, would it not be that if you grazed them in the lush area, you grazed them by the decree of Allah, and if you grazed them in the barren area, you grazed them by the decree of Allah?” He said, “Yes.”
ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ عمر بن الخطاب رضی اللہ عنہ شام کی طرف نکلے یہاں تک کہ جب سرغ نامی جگہ پہنچے تو لشکر کے سپہ سالار ابو عبیدہ بن الجراح رضی اللہ عنہ اور ان کے ساتھی ان سے ملے اور انہیں اطلاع دی کہ شام میں طاعون پھوٹ پڑا ہے، تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ مہاجرین کو میرے پاس بلاؤ، چنانچہ انہیں بلایا گیا تو آپ نے ان سے مشورہ کیا اور انہیں بتایا کہ شام میں طاعون پھوٹ پڑا ہے، تو ان کے درمیان اختلاف ہو گیا بعض نے کہا کہ آپ ایک مقصد کے لیے نکلے ہیں تو ہم نہیں سمجھتے کہ آپ کو اس سے واپس ہونا چاہیے اور بعض نے کہا کہ باقی لوگ اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ کرام آپ کے ساتھ ہیں تو ہم نہیں سمجھتے کہ آپ انہیں اس طاعون میں لے جائیں، تو آپ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ میرے پاس سے ہٹ جاؤ، پھر آپ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ انصار کو میرے پاس بلاؤ، چنانچہ انہیں بلایا گیا اور ان سے مشورہ کیا لیکن انہوں نے بھی مہاجرین رضی اللہ عنہم والی روش اختیار کی اور جیسے ان کے درمیان اختلاف تھا ایسے ہی ان میں بھی اختلاف ہوا، تو آپ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ میرے پاس سے ہٹ جاؤ، پھر آپ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ قریش کے ان بزرگوں کو میرے پاس بلاؤ جو فتح مکہ کے موقع پر ہجرت کر کے آئے تھے، چنانچہ انہیں بلایا گیا تو ان میں سے کسی دو آدمی کا بھی اختلاف نہیں ہوا اور انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سمجھتے ہیں کہ آپ کو لوگوں کے ساتھ واپس ہونا چاہیے اور انہیں اس طاعون میں نہیں لے جانا چاہیے، تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے لوگوں میں اعلان کر دیا کہ میں صبح سویرے نکل جاؤں گا لہذا تم تیار ہو جاؤ، تو وہ آپ کے لیے تیار ہو گئے، اتنے میں ابو عبیدہ بن الجراح رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ کیا آپ اللہ کے فیصلے سے بھاگتے ہیں؟ تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کاش! یہ بات ابو عبیدہ کے سوا کوئی اور کہتا، اور آپ رضی اللہ عنہ کو ان کی مخالفت ناگوار گزرتی تھی، ہم اللہ کے ایک فیصلے سے اللہ کے ایک فیصلے کی طرف بھاگتے ہیں، کیا تم نہیں دیکھتے کہ اگر تمہارے پاس اونٹ ہوں اور وہ دو وادیوں والی جگہ پر اترے جن میں ایک وادی ہری بھری اور دوسری بنجر ہو تو کیا ایسا نہیں ہو گا کہ اگر تم انہیں ہری بھری وادی میں چرو گے تو تم اللہ کے فیصلے سے چرو گے اور اگر تم انہیں بنجر وادی میں چرو گے تو تم اللہ کے فیصلے سے چرو گے؟ انہوں نے کہا ہاں۔
Ibn Abbas Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki Umar bin Al-Khattab Radi Allahu Anhu Sham ki taraf nikle yahan tak ki jab Sargh nami jaga pahunche to lashkar ke sipah salar Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah Radi Allahu Anhu aur unke sathi unse mile aur unhen ittila di ki Sham mein taun phut pada hai, to Umar Radi Allahu Anhu ne kaha ki muhajireen ko mere pas bulao, chunancha unhen bulaya gaya to aap ne unse mashwara kiya aur unhen bataya ki Sham mein taun phut pada hai, to unke darmiyan ikhtilaf ho gaya baaz ne kaha ki aap ek maqsad ke liye nikle hain to hum nahin samajhte ki aap ko is se wapas hona chahie aur baaz ne kaha ki baqi log aur Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ke sahaba kiram aap ke sath hain to hum nahin samajhte ki aap unhen is taun mein le jayen, to aap Radi Allahu Anhu ne farmaya ki mere pas se hat jao, phir aap Radi Allahu Anhu ne farmaya ki Ansar ko mere pas bulao, chunancha unhen bulaya gaya aur unse mashwara kiya lekin unhon ne bhi muhajireen Radi Allahu Anhum wali ravish ikhtiyar ki aur jaise unke darmiyan ikhtilaf tha aise hi un mein bhi ikhtilaf hua, to aap Radi Allahu Anhu ne farmaya ki mere pas se hat jao, phir aap Radi Allahu Anhu ne farmaya ki Quresh ke un buzurgon ko mere pas bulao jo Fath Makkah ke mauqa par hijrat kar ke aye the, chunancha unhen bulaya gaya to un mein se kisi do aadmi ka bhi ikhtilaf nahin hua aur unhon ne kaha ki hum samajhte hain ki aap ko logon ke sath wapas hona chahie aur unhen is taun mein nahin le jana chahie, to Umar Radi Allahu Anhu ne logon mein elan kar diya ki mein subah sawere nikal jaunga lihaza tum taiyar ho jao, to wo aap ke liye taiyar ho gaye, itne mein Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah Radi Allahu Anhu ne kaha ki kya aap Allah ke faisle se bhagte hain? to Umar Radi Allahu Anhu ne farmaya kash! yeh baat Abu Ubaidah ke siwa koi aur kahta, aur aap Radi Allahu Anhu ko un ki mukhalfat nagawar guzri thi, hum Allah ke ek faisle se Allah ke ek faisle ki taraf bhagte hain, kya tum nahin dekhte ki agar tumhare pas unt hon aur wo do wadiyon wali jaga par utre jin mein ek wadi hari bhari aur dusri banjar ho to kya aisa nahin hoga ki agar tum unhen hari bhari wadi mein charo ge to tum Allah ke faisle se charo ge aur agar tum unhen banjar wadi mein charo ge to tum Allah ke faisle se charo ge? unhon ne kaha haan.
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ خَرَجَ إِلَى الشَّامِ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِسَرْغَ لَقِيَهُ أُمَرَاءُ الْأَجْنَادِ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ وَأَصْحَابُهُ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ أَنَّ الْوَبَاءَ قَدْ وَقَعَ بِالشَّامِ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ادْعُ لِيَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ الْأَوْلِينَ فَدَعَوْتُهُمْ فَاسْتَشَارَهُمْ وَأَخْبَرَهُمْ أَنَّ الْوَبَاءَ قَدْ وَقَعَ بِالشَّامِ فَاخْتَلَفُوا فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ خَرَجْتَ لِأَمْرٍ فَلَا نَرَى أَنْ تَرْجِعَ عَنْهُ وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ مَعَكَ بَقِيَّةُ النَّاسِ وَأَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلَا نَرَى أَنْ تُقْدِمَهُمْ عَلَى هَذَا الْوَبَاءِ فَقَالَ ارْتَفِعُوا عَنِّي ثُمَّ قَالَ ادْعُ لِيَ الْأَنْصَارَ فَدَعَوْتُهُمْ فَاسْتَشَارَهُمْ فَسَلَكُوا سَبِيلَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَاخْتَلَفُوا كَاخْتِلَافِهِمْ فَقَالَ ارْتَفِعُوا عَنِّي ثُمَّ قَالَ ادْعُ لِي مَنْ كَانَ هَاهُنَا مِنْ مَشْيَخَةِ قُرَيْشٍ مِنْ مُهَاجِرَةِ الْفَتْحِ فَدَعَوْتُهُمْ فَلَمْ يَخْتَلِفْ عَلَيْهِ رَجُلَانِ وَقَالُوا نَرَى أَنْ تَرْجِعَ بِالنَّاسِ وَلَا تُقْدِمَهُمْ عَلَى هَذَا الْوَبَاءِ فَنَادَى عُمَرُ فِي النَّاسِ إِنِّي مُصْبِحٌ عَلَى ظَهْرٍ فَأَصْبِحُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ أَفِرَارًا مِنْ قَدْرِ اللَّهِ؟ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لَوْ غَيْرُكَ قَالَهَا يَا أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ وَكَانَ عُمَرُ يَكْرَهُ خِلَافَهُ نَفِرُ مِنْ قَدَرِ اللَّهِ إِلَى قَدَرِ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ كَانَ لَكَ إِبِلٌ فَهَبَطَتْ وَادِيًا لَهُ عُدْوَتَانِ إِحْدَاهُمَا خِصِبَةٌ وَالْأُخْرَى جَدْبَةٌ أَلَيْسَ إِنْ رَعَيْتَ الْخِصْبَةَ رَعَيْتَهَا بِقَدَرِ اللَّهِ وَإِنْ رَعَيْتَ الْجَدْبَةَ رَعَيْتَهَا بِقَدَرِ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ
