ر. It was narrated that Samurah bin Jundab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said: “There are two pauses which I memorized from the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم), but `Imran bin Husain denied that. We wrote to Ubayy bin Ka`b in Al-Madinah, and he wrote that Samurah had indeed memorized them.” (One of the narrators) Sa`eed said: "We said to Qatadah ( رضي الله تعالى عنه): 'What are these two pauses?' He said: 'When he started his prayer, and when he finished reciting.' Then later he said: 'And when he recited: 'Not (the way) of those who earned your anger, nor of those who went astray.' They used to like (for the Imam) when he had finished reciting to remain silent until he had caught his breath.'"

سمرہ بن جندب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے دو سکتے یاد رکھے ہیں، عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہما نے اس کا انکار کیا، اس پر ہم نے مدینہ میں ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ کو لکھا، تو انہوں نے لکھا کہ سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے ٹھیک یاد رکھا ہے۔ سعید نے کہا: ہم نے قتادہ سے پوچھا: وہ دو سکتے کون کون سے ہیں؟ انہوں نے کہا: ایک تو وہ جب آپ ﷺ نماز شروع کرتے اور دوسرا جب قراءت فاتحہ سے فارغ ہوتے۔ پھر بعد میں قتادہ نے کہا: دوسرا سکتہ اس وقت ہوتا جب «غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين» کہہ لیتے، قتادہ نے کہا کہ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم کو یہ پسند تھا کہ جب امام قراءت سے فارغ ہو جائے تو تھوڑی دیر خاموش رہے، تاکہ اس کا سانس ٹھکانے آ جائے۔
Samra bin Jundab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke main ne Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se do sakte yaad rakhe hain, Imran bin Haseen ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne is ka inkar kiya, is par hum ne Madina mein Abi bin Ka'ab (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko likha, to unhon ne likha ke Samra (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne theek yaad rakha hai. Saeed ne kaha: hum ne Qatada se poocha: woh do sakte kon kon se hain? Unhon ne kaha: ek to woh jab aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz shuru karte aur dusra jab qirat Fatiha se farigh hote. Phir baad mein Qatada ne kaha: dusra sakta is waqt hota jab «Ghair al-maghdoob alaihim wala al-dhalin» keh lete, Qatada ne kaha ke sahaba kuram (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko yeh pasand tha ke jab imam qirat se farigh ho jaye to thodi der khamosh rahe, taake is ka sans thakane aa jaye.
حَدَّثَنَا جَمِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ جَمِيلٍ الْعَتَكِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدَبٍ، قَالَ: سَكْتَتَانِ حَفِظْتُهُمَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ، فَكَتَبْنَا إِلَى أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، فَكَتَبَ أَنَّ سَمُرَةَ قَدْ حَفِظَ، قَالَ سَعِيدٌ: فَقُلْنَا لِقَتَادَةَ: مَا هَاتَانِ السَّكْتَتَانِ؟ قَالَ: إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ وَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ بَعْدُ، وَإِذَا قَرَأَ: غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا الضَّالِّينَ سورة الفاتحة آية 7، قَالَ: وَكَانَ يُعْجِبُهُمْ إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ أَنْ يَسْكُتَ حَتَّى يَتَرَادَّ إِلَيْهِ نَفَسُهُ .
