Sunan Ibn Majah 1018
It was narrated that Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) said: “The Apostle of Allah (صلى هللا عليه و آله وسلم) sent me on an errand, then I caught up with him while he was performing prayer, and I greeted him. He gestured to me, then when he finished, he called me and said: ‘You greeted me before, but I was performing prayer.’”

جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے مجھے کسی ضرورت کے تحت بھیجا، جب میں واپس آیا تو آپ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے، میں نے آپ کو سلام کیا، تو آپ ﷺ نے اشارے سے جواب دیا، جب آپ نماز سے فارغ ہو گئے تو مجھے بلایا، اور پوچھا: ابھی تم نے مجھے سلام کیا، اور میں نماز پڑھ رہا تھا ۔
Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Nabi-e-Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe kisi zarurat ke taht bheja, jab main wapus aaya to aap namaz padh rahe the, main ne aap ko salam kiya, to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ishare se jawab diya, jab aap namaz se farigh ho gaye to mujhe bulaya, aur poocha: Abhi tum ne mujhe salam kiya, aur main namaz padh raha tha
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: بَعَثَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِحَاجَةٍ، ثُمَّ أَدْرَكْتُهُ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي، فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيَّ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ دَعَانِي فَقَالَ: إِنَّكَ سَلَّمْتَ عَلَيَّ آنِفًا وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي .
