Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would not raise his hands in any supplication except in the supplication for rain. Imam Shu'bah said, "I asked Thabit, 'Did you hear this hadith from Anas?' He said, 'Subhanallah! (How amazing!).' I asked, 'Did you hear this hadith from Anas?' He said, 'Subhanallah! (How amazing!).'" Imam Abu Bakr, may Allah have mercy on him, said, "I have already written these words before, from the narration of Ma'mar, from Zuhri, that 'and he (the Prophet) raised both his hands.'"

سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بارش طلب کرنے کی دعا کے علاوہ اور کسی دعا میں اپنے دونوں ہاتھ بلند نہیں کرتے تھے۔ امام شعبہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت ثابت سے پوچھا، کیا آپ نے سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے یہ حدیث سنی ہے؟ تو اُنہوں نے فرمایا، «سُبْحَانَ اللَٰه» (بڑی تعجب والی بات ہے۔) میں نے پوچھا، کیا آپ نے یہ حدیث سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنی ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا، «سُبْحَانَ اللَٰه» (بڑی تعجب خیز بات ہے)۔“ امام ابوبکر رحمه الله فرماتے ہیں کہ جناب معمر کی امام زہری سے روایت میں یہ الفاظ پہلے بھی لکھوا چکا ہوں کہ اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دونوں ہاتھ اٹھائے۔
Sayyidina Anas bin Malik Radi Allahu Anhu bayan karte hain keh Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam baarish talab karne ki dua ke ilawa aur kisi dua mein apne donon hath buland nahi karte thay. Imam Shaba kehte hain keh main ne Hazrat Sabit se pucha, kya aap ne Sayyidina Anas Radi Allahu Anhu se yeh hadees suni hai? To unhon ne farmaya, Subhan Allah (bari taajjub wali baat hai). Main ne pucha, kya aap ne yeh hadees Sayyidina Anas Radi Allahu Anhu se suni hai? Unhon ne farmaya, Subhan Allah (bari taajjub khiz baat hai). Imam Abu Bakr Rahmatullah Alaih farmate hain keh janab Ma'mar ki Imam Zahri se riwayat mein yeh alfaz pehle bhi likhwa chuka hun keh aur aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne donon hath uthaye.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، نَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ:" كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لا يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ إِلا فِي الاسْتِسْقَاءِ" . قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: قُلْتُ لِثَابِتٍ: أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ؟ قَالَ: سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ، قُلْتُ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ. قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: وَفِي خَبَرِ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ قَدْ أَمْلَيْتُهُ قَبْلُ
