It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the Eid prayer before the sermon on the day of Eid.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ بنی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عید والے دن نماز خطبے سے پہلے ادا فرمائی۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas Radi Allahu Anhuma se riwayat hai ki Bani Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne Eid wale din namaz khutbe se pehle ada farma'i.
نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ فِي يَوْمِ الْعِيدِ"
