Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The one who eats food and thanks Allah for it is like the one who fasts and is patient.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Allah Almighty says, ‘Every deed of the son of Adam is for him except fasting. It is for Me and I shall reward for it. He gives up his food, drink and desire for My sake.’”

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کھانا کھا کر شکر ادا کرنے والا، روزے دار صبر کرنے والے کی طرح ہے۔“ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے کہ ابن آدم کا ہر عمل اُس کے لئے ہے سوائے روزے کے کیونکہ وہ میرے لئے ہے اور میں ہی اس کی جزادوں گا وہ میرے لئے کھانا، پینا اور اپنی شہوت کو چھوڑ دیتا ہے۔“
Sayyidina Abu Hurairah Radi Allahu Anhu Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se riwayat karte hain ki Aap Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: “Khana kha kar shukr ada karne wala, roze daar sabar karne wale ki tarah hai.” Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: “Allah Ta’ala farmata hai ki Ibn Adam ka har amal uske liye hai siwaye roze ke kyunki woh mere liye hai aur main hi uski jaza dun ga woh mere liye khana, peena aur apni shahwat ko chhor deta hai.”
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مَعْنَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَنَا وَحَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ بِالْبَقِيعِ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، فَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " الطَّاعِمُ الشَّاكِرُ مِثْلُ الصَّائِمِ الصَّابِرِ" قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" قَالَ اللَّهُ: كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ إِلا الصَّوْمَ ؛ فَإِنَّهُ لِي، وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ، يَدَعُ الطَّعَامَ وَالشَّرَابَ وَشَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي"
