Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 2178
Our master Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, separated from his pure wives (for a month), I said, "O Messenger of Allah, you have stayed in the upper room for twenty-nine days. (The month is not yet complete)." So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Verily, a month can also be twenty-nine days long."
سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنی ازواج مطہرات سے (ایک مہینہ کی) علیحدگی اختیار کی۔ تو میں نے عرض کیا کہ اے اللہ کے رسول، آپ بالاخانے میں اُنتیس دن رہے ہیں۔ (ابھی مہینہ مکمّل نہیں ہوا) تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”بیشک مہینہ اُنتیس دن کا بھی ہوتا ہے۔“
Sayyidina Umar Radi Allahu Anhu bayan karte hain ki jab Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne apni azwaj e mutahharaat se (ek mahine ki) alagi ikhtiyar ki to maine arz kiya ke aye Allah ke Rasul aap baala khane mein untis din rahe hain (abhi mahina mukammal nahi hua) to Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya: “Beshak mahina untis din ka bhi hota hai.”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ ، قَالَ: لَمَّا اعْتَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِسَاءَهُ، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كُنْتَ فِي غَرْفَةٍ تِسْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّ الشَّهْرَ يَكُونُ تِسْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ"
