Chapter on the stoning of the pillars
بَابُ رَمْيِ الْجِمَارِ
Muwatta Imam Malik 902
Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard some of the people of knowledge saying, "The pebbles used for stoning the jamras should be like the stones used as slingshot."Malik said, "I like it better if they are a little larger than that."Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar used to say, "Someone who is at Mina when the sun sets in the middle of the days of tashriq must not leave until he has stoned the jamras on the following day."

نافع رحمہ اللہ سے روایت ہے کہ بے شک حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ فرمایا کرتے تھے : وہ شخص کہ ایام تشریق کے درمیانے دن ( 12 ذوالحج ) کا سورج اس حال میں غروب ہو کہ وہ منیٰ ہی میں موجود ہو تو وہ ( اس دن ) ہرگز کوچ نہ کرے گا یہاں تک کہ اگلے دن بھی جمروں کو رمی کر لے ۔
Nafi rehmatullah alaihe se riwayat hai ki be shak Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar razi Allah anhu farmaya karte the: Woh shakhs keh ayyam e tashreeq ke darmiyanay din (12 Zul-Hajj) ka sooraj is haal mein ghuroob ho ki woh Mina hi mein mojood ho to woh (is din) hargiz کوچ na karega yahan tak ki agle din bhi jamron ko rami kar le.
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مالِكٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ بَعْضَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُ : « الْحَصَى الَّتِي يُرْمَى بِهَا الْجِمَارُ مِثْلُ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ » قَالَ مَالِكٌ : « وَأَكْبَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَلِيلًا أَعْجَبُ إِلَيَّ » وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ : « مَنْ غَرَبَتْ لَهُ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ أَوْسَطِ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ وَهُوَ بِمِنًى فَلَا يَنْفِرَنَّ حَتَّى يَرْمِيَ الْجِمَارَ مِنَ الْغَدِ »
